Top DB Performers
Earning MVP honors for the defensive backs at our Winter Showcase, Summey helped build his recruiting stock in a major way by performing at a high level alongside veterans and in front of college coaches. The Bucs rising sophomore proved to be one of the more athletic DB’s at camp where he was one of the best during 1 on 1 competition and one of the best during the testing portion of camp. Undersized yes but Summey plays much bigger, this Chattanooga area defender did not back down from bigger competition and even held his own, winning several reps against veteran pass catchers. It will be fun to watch this guy develop over the next few years and maybe even come back to our Showcase and earn another MVP award.

Anderson proved to be one of the better defensive back prospects in attendance by the end of camp and a prospect that I see taking a big step up in his recruitment over the coming months. The Blaze rising senior had a strong day from start to finish where he did well during testing then performed excellently throughout 1 on 1’s. Anderson plays hard with outstanding instincts that were on full display during his coverage work but it was his increased speed and physicality that impressed me the most. He reads and reacts quickly then uses his new found physical body to work through the receivers. These next few months will dictate where this Murfreesboro area prospect lands on the college level with his continued development and off-season work.

Playing alongside several other college level prospects in the secondary at Brentwood Academy, Williams helped establish himself as a player to watch over the coming months after his excellent performance at the PRZTN Winter Showcase. All the way from testing into the 1 on 1 portion of camp, Williams was consistent and steady throughout the day, displaying excellent technique and strong football instincts along with deceptive athleticism that can develop further over the current off-season. His game I see fitting best at safety or nickel back on the college level while also becoming a strong contributor on special teams. His development over the coming months will be key towards watching which direction his recruitment will go.

Coming up from the Bayou to compete at the PRZTN Winter Showcase, Randall proved to be one of the best at his position and a player for those down in Louisiana to pay attention to moving forward. This rising senior defensive back was one of the better cover corner players during the 1 on 1 part of camp while also showing to be one of the best at his position with his testing. Randall is well built physically while standing 5 ’10, so he brings solid size and strength that will allow him to compete on the next level but at which secondary position? Well his performance at the Showcase tells me he could play a variety of roles on the backend from corner to safety and nickel back. Randall is an all-around player that should pick up steam on the recruiting trail somewhere down the road.

Tall and long with a slender frame for added growth, Smith was a pleasant surprise at our Winter Showcase where he proved to be one of the more athletic defensive backs in attendance. The Tigers rising junior tested out very well then proceeded to excel during 1 on 1’s where his length and recovery speed became a difference maker. He displayed good instincts as well. Smith is a little light in the britches right now but has the frame to take on more weight, which would turn this Mid-Tennessee product into a better player overall. Upside was certainly shown by Smith at our Showcase as a potential cover corner or safety in the college game.

One of the top names to attend our Winter Showcase, Tutt had himself a good day in front of college coaches and his peers where this Murfreesboro area defender displayed a variety of versatile skills. The Patriots rising junior showed his best during the 1 on 1 portion of camp where he displayed excellent closing speed and the ability to work through physical contact. Tutt is a well put together young man that could play multiple roles on defense from safety to nickel back and maybe even linebacker. Being a ball hawk is where Tutt makes his money and by his performance at our Showcase, the Pats defender showed us why college coaches have already started their pursuit and why he holds several D1 offers.

Ronald Davis-Suttles
Ronald Davis-Suttles
Consistent from start to finish would be a good narrative for Davis-Suttles and his play at our recent Winter Showcase. This Chattanooga area defensive back is a physical, well put together young man that displayed a variety of skills that can be developed for the next level. The biggest trait that landed Davis-Suttles on this list was his coverage work during 1 on 1 competition. He showed good feet and the ability to change direction and stay on path with his receiver. Davis-Suttles also took to directions very well where he was able to listen to coaches and implement exactly what they wanted. A versatile defender, Davis-Suttles fits best back at safety but his athleticism and size allows him to work at nickel back as well if needed. He will need more speed work but tools are there to reach the college game.
