In 2024 Wisconsin saw a lot of impressive pass rushers get after the QB and change games with their abilities to create pressure and bring the QB down. Among those highly productive defensive players were players who will be back on the field this fall and wrecking havoc on passing games across WI HS football fields. These game changers are the focus of today’s article and film review. Let’s dive into the top sack artists!
Ta’Shawn Carter
Ta’Shawn Carter
The leader in the state for sacks will be back on the field this fall. That is the junior, Ta’Shawn Carter out of Milwaukee Washington Co-Op. The DL finished with an elite 17 sacks in only 6 games. Carter doesn’t have any film that I could find online, but the production is well worth looking into him more. The 2025 also plays QB for his team. I’m excited to see how he finishes his HS career.
Jackson Foster
Jackson Foster
At #2 in the state is Jackson Foster. A junior who will be returning to the field as well. The LB finished with a dominant 16 sacks while also making almost 100 total tackles. Jackson doesn’t have the size most look for at the LB position, but the kid is a ball player. He flies around the field, has a nose for the ball, and knows how to get the ball handler on the ground quickly. As a pass rusher, Foster wins with a quick first step, acceleration, and closing speed. It is all about getting to the QB as fast as he can before the OL can react to his movements. Foster also has been able to rip through interior OL. Check out his tape.
Adam is a budding DL prospect that college coaches will want to get eyes on soon. He is a raw prospect, but that hasn’t stopped him from piling up 14 sacks as a sophomore. Adam has a long 6’4″ 190 lbs frame with tons of room to continue to add strength. Anderson does a great job of using his length and hands to create separation and disengage from OL. I am excited for his junior season to see how he has grown physically and how his game has developed. Check out the film.
Highlights
Nathaniel was getting to the QB and creating pressure all season long for MAS. It ended with 13 sacks and plenty of other affected plays. Bell has shown he uses his hands well to disengage. He also wins with lateral agility to get around OTs or get the angle on them. His ability to change his rush path effectively was huge for his success. Keep an eye on the junior in his final season this fall.
Storm looks the part of a next level edge defender. He has a strong, athletic 6’4″ 230 lbs frame. Storm has an explosive first step and has the range to cover ground and close quickly on the QB or RB in the backfield. Tiry’s quickness is a real problem for OTs at this level. Many times you see them turning and watching Storm drop the hammer on their QB. When they do get in front of him, Storm has shown he has some power to be able to run through blocks. Get this dude on your recruiting boards.

The Class of 2025 is loaded on the DL, and one of the top prospects is Muskego’s Liam Shaw Liam Shaw 6’4″ | 245 lbs | DL Muskego | 2025 State WI . Liam has an impressive skill set that should be even more dominant this fall. His blend of power and speed/quickness is special. Liam can bull rush an OL into the lap of the QB. Then he can flash quick hands and burst around the OL. The junior has good balance to be able to change direction or play with leverage. Liam is a talented DL to know.

Zach put himself on the map with impressive play on both sides of the ball for a talented Boyceville team. As a sophomore, Zach has built a next level frame at 6’3″ 225 lbs. Despite his two way play, the DL was still able to finish Top 20 with 9 sacks in 2023. Zach is able to collapse the pocket from the interior with his power. He can hold the line, find the ball, and quickly disengage before getting to the ball. Zach is a quickly rising prospect in the Class of 2026. Check out the film.
