In my opinion, all 3 of these athletes are on a trajectory heading towards big time college football as long as they keep putting in the work. In this article I will be breaking down these 3 and what I have seen from them that show they could be absolutely special.
Coming in hot at #5 overall, this kid is looking to be a menace. He’s receiving a lot of D1 attention already, and it’s easy to see why. Everything I see from him is just working hard in the offseason, hitting every camp and showing out extremely well. He has good size, shows tremendous speed and athleticism. There isn’t an abundance of film to go off of, but I really love where he looks to be heading, and hopefully I can catch him in person soon.
You can read my last article here where I just talked about how much of a fan I am of this dude: https://prepredzone.com/2024/01/2027s-on-the-rise/rnHe is probably one of my favorite prospects in this class. He can lock guys down in 1 on 1s, or read the QB and make plays on the ball roaming around in the safety position. He shows incredible instincts and a clear football IQ that tends to put him in great situations. He’s putting in the work this offseason to continue developing and I am pumped to see where it takes him. Keep a lookout for this guy terrorizing offenses from the secondary.
Highlights
Jones is a great talent, and has the fundamentals to really thrive. He’s patient, doesn’t fall for eye candy, and makes the play that comes to him. He is clearly well coached and is utilizing every rep to get better this offseason. He moves well, does a great job staying balanced on backpedals, and can flip his hips in a hurry. I hope to see him continue to develop athletically, but he is showing a great baseline already.
