These are some under the radar guys who I sense will see a big increase in their recruiting over the spring months and are prospects you need to keep an eye on. Many of these players I have seen live at some point over the last year, either in person at games or attending workouts/showcases. This is not a ratings list at all and there are certainly more QBs I will be evaluating and writing about in the near future. I will be doing this for all position groups over the coming weeks as well.
I have been covering Ethan for a couple years now and every time I see him I feel he has gotten taller, bigger, stronger, and more impressed with his ability. Ethan had a great junior season leading Brunswick to a 7-3 record on the year. He is a true dual-threat QB, finishing the season with a CMP of 67% over 1500 yds passing and 18 TDs through the air and rushing for 800+ yds and 13 rushing TDs. Physically Ethan passes the eye-ball test with no issue. A legit 6’3″+ and a 200lb muscled up frame that will continue to fill out with good mass. A high level athlete for his position with a verified 4.54 hand held 40, 9’10” SBJ and an impressive 80″ wingspan. Ethan trains with Chris Baucia at the QB Factory and it shows. He possesses great mechanics with a smooth throwing motion, quick release and a hose for an arm. Shows great arm strength and can make all the throws. Can push the ball deep vertically, throw a dart across the middle into a tight window, as well ass hit a deep corner in the back of the endzone with touch and placement. Love his ability to not just run for big plays, but be mobile in the pocket and extend the play while making big time throws. Will escape pressure, set his feet and snap his hips to get maximum velocity on this throws. A playmaker at the QB position who can hurt you in a lot of ways. Great kid off the field as well, hard worker, high character and carries a 4.5 GPA. I am honestly surprised he doesn’t have any offers yet, colleges are missing out on this kid.

Savion balled out this season leading Dunbar to an undefeated season and another state championship. Possessing good height with a long lean frame, he will fill out nicely and continue to get stronger. I’ve seen Savion live twice this past season and he dominated in both contest. One of his best traits is his deep ball. Strong arm and he can launch it down the field while also adding the touch and accuracy to hit the receiver in stride for big plays. Another one of his best traits is his pocket awareness. Stands tall with his eyes downfield, while sliding & stepping up in the pocket to avoid the rush. While Savion can stand back in the pocket and sling it around all over the field, he is also a sneaky good ruuner. I knew he could extend the play with his legs and throw well on the run but as the year went on I saw him be more of a weapon with his legs. Has a smooth stride and knows how to find lanes and get chunk yardage as a ball carrier. Saw him in person take it 50+ yards down the sideline against City College (MD) out running all the high level athletes they have. Savion holds 1 FBS offer as of now, but I expect him to impress a lot of coaches this spring/summer and should easily pick up some more offers.
Ahmir is another QB I’ve been following for sometime now, he has been starting on varsity since his freshman year. He can make a wide range of throws and sees the field really well. Can hit passes with good zip and accuracy across all 3 levels of the passing game. I think one of Ahmir’s top qualities is his mechanics and technique. Smooth release, good footwork in the pocket and throws a real catchable ball. He shows poise in the pocket and go through his reads to make the smart throw. Another product of the QB Factory, you can tell he has a strong understanding of the position. Is also a capable runner. Can run the read option effectively as well as a scrambling for yard and throwing well on the run. Want to see him still get stronger and fill out that frame, but this kid can ball and look forward to seeing more of him this offseason.
Got to see David early on this season and the first thing I noticed was how well the ball comes off his hand. Throws a real pretty ball! A quick, smooth release he lets it rip. His passes show a tight spiral, good velocity and strong technique. David possesses good arm strength for his frame. He can push the ball down the seam hitting receivers in stride and also throws darts to the sideline. He is an accurate passer and has good ball placement. Can put good air under the ball and hit a deep corner letting the receiver run under it. David is also a strong runner as well, will scramble for yards and extend the play. One of my favorite things about David I got a chance to speak with him back in early fall was his composure and how he approached the game. Has a high football IQ and a hard worker. Great young man who I expect a lot out of his senior season. May be a bit undersized at 5’11” but is a baller!
Finn is a prospect I am hoping to see more of this offseason after he had a strong junior campaign and is a 2 year starter for South River. He has good size & frame, will fill out nicely and be strong physical QB who can take a hit and be power runner as well. One of Finn’s strongest traits is his accuracy, owning a 69% completion percentage. Shows a quick release and strong ball placement on film. Is able to hit his WR in stride or where he can win on the ball. Finn is also a high high academic kid. Has a 4.6 GPA making him a prospect a lot of colleges will want to get eyes on. Look forwarding to seeing how he continues to develop.
Kyle has your prototypical size for a QB. Big strong armed kid, all of 6’4″ with a frame that will fill out well with good muscle. Coach’s son as well and also a strong academic prospect sporting a 3.8 GPA. He is also a lefty thrower, ball comes out of his hand spinning. When he has time and can set his feet he will deliver a laser with high velocity and accuracy. Demonstrates good mechanics, high over the top release angle with no hitches in his motion and quick release that leads to tight spirals and pin point throws. Has the arm strength to get it from the hash to the opposite sideline and that arm will only get stronger as he develops. With his size he can be effective in some power run set but is best in the pocket using play action set ups and throwing it all over the field. Will show well in camps this summer and turn some heads, look forward to seeing more of him.
Darrian is a high ceiling prospect that has a lot of potential as a QB as he continues to develop. A tall, long frame standing all of 6’4″ with a 75″ wingspan. He has the ideal measuarables you want out of QB. Solid athlete as well, Darrian runs a 4.9 40 with a 9’3″ SBJ. Darrian demonstrates good footwork in the pocket, the ability to scramble and extend plays with his legs, and is able to make big time throws while on the run. He can spin it and throws a pretty deep ball as well, getting the right amount of touch/air on the ball to drop it in on the receiver. Darrian is a prospect that will develop nicely as his continues to fill out his frame, get stronger, and increase velocity on this throws. He is also strong off the field with a 3.6 GPA. Another QB that will show well this summer and college coaches will want to eyes on.

Brad is a prospect who has really developed nicely over the years. A 2 year started already for Loyola he has great size and frame for the position. He has a real live arm, can spin it and let it fly with just a flick of his wrist. Strong arm with lots of zip on the ball and can throw from multiple angles. Is proficient in multiple passing styles. Effective from a shotgun set or under center, run play action, and can roll out and throw on the run. Seiss possess a cannon for an arm, can make every throw across all 3 levels of the passing game. He’s also a great worker, high football IQ and high academic kid with a 4.2 GPA. Brad will impress plenty of people this off season and I will be surprised if he is not a scholarship kid after this summer.
Vasi had a strong junior season, leading Churchill to an 11-2 record and a regional championship. Good height at 6’4″ with a strong frame and long arms, he fits the mold. Vasi has a big arm, he can bomb it deep and push the ball vertically down the field. One of his biggest strengths is his ability to throw on the move. Can scramble or roll out and still get a lot behind the ball with got velocity while on the run. Has the ability to mix up his passes as well, can throw a laser across the middle of the field or throw with touch over the defenders head and into tight zones. Really like his potential as he continues to develop as a passer and will be an option for many schools as he holds a 4.3 GPA.
Kelsyn is a true under the radar recruit in my mind as he is someone I need to get eyes on still myself. Looks to have good size and frame, strong thick build that will continue to add on muscle. Can launch it deep with a quick release and no wasted motion. Kelsyn makes a lot of tough throws with good timing and anticipation. Putting the right amount of touch or zip on the pass while also throwing a very catchable ball. Feel he has a lot of potential as he continues to develop and will turn some heads at college 1 day camps. Should get interest from wide range of schools as he holds a 3.5 GPA. I hope to see Kelsyn more this spring/summer to further evaluate him going into his senior campaign.
