Corey Bailey | Prep Redzone Scout
Lowery has been having a tremendous year for the Wildcats. Compared to last season he’s on track to double his passing touchdowns and currently has 500+ more passing yards than last season. He throws an accurate deep ball and can throw 30 yards on a rope. Lowrey’s a true dual threat, who may be even more dangerous beyond the LOS. The read option with Lowery is lethal, he accelerates fast and can turn a short gain into a big play in a flash. Running the ball he’s doubled his rushing yards on less carries with 52 carries for 571 yards.

I have seen Ahmir for years now and saw him live again just this past weekend when Arundel rolled South River 70-6. Ahmir was lights out that game as he has been all season long and I can’t for the life of me understand why he doesn’t have any offers, the very least at the D2/D3 level. In Friday night’s game he went 11 of 12 for 320 yds and 4 TDs, while also adding in 60 rushing yds & 1 TD on the ground. This was all pretty much done in the 1st half of the game…380 total yards and 5 total TDs in one half.
On the year, Ahmir lead Arundel to a 7-1 record and a top 10 ranking in the state. He has passed for over 1700 yards on 67.5% completion rate, 18 passing TDs and 0 interceptions, while adding just under 500 yards on the ground. Ahmir is a dual threat QB who can make all the throws. Strong arm that gets a ton of zip and velocity on the ball to push it vertical and fit it in tight windows. He knows how to read defenses and manipulate defenders from the pocket. While also being able to roll out, scramble and throw well on the run. Ahmir is a straight baller that colleges need to take notice of, some one is going to come away with a steal of a QB.

Ahmir is another QB I’ve been following for sometime now, he has been starting on varsity since his freshman year. He can make a wide range of throws and sees the field really well. Can hit passes with good zip and accuracy across all 3 levels of the passing game. I think one of Ahmir’s top qualities is his mechanics and technique. Smooth release, good footwork in the pocket and throws a real catchable ball. He shows poise in the pocket and go through his reads to make the smart throw. Another product of the QB Factory, you can tell he has a strong understanding of the position. Is also a capable runner. Can run the read option effectively as well as a scrambling for yard and throwing well on the run. Want to see him still get stronger and fill out that frame, but this kid can ball and look forward to seeing more of him this offseason.
