The quantity and quality were in attendance with some big-time talent on display at this great event. Here were some of the best quarterbacks and running backs at camp!
Quarterbacks
Jackson Wasik Jackson Wasik 5'9" | 140 lbs | QB Lexington Catholic | 2024 State KY – Lexington Catholic (KY) ’24 (Camp MVP)
The most impressive quarterback in attendance at the Winter Exposure Showcase was Jackson Wasik Jackson Wasik 5'9" | 140 lbs | QB Lexington Catholic | 2024 State KY out of Lexington Catholic (KY). Wasik made the long trek from Lexington, KY to Triadelphia, WV and it paid off for the 2024 quarterback. Wasik flashed a huge arm during 1-on-1s and was easily tossing it 50 yards consistently. Wasik was the District Player of the Year and First Team All-District down in Kentucky in his senior year and you could see why at camp. From watching his film from this season, Wasik’s arm strength was confirmed even more but he also showcased great pocket presence and playmaking ability under duress which you can’t see in a camp setting. The only thing he needs to do is add weight to play at the next level but Wasik is certainly worthy of at least a D2 offer.
Atley Cowan Atley Cowan 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Linsly | 2024 State WV – Linsly ’24 (Camp MVP)
I’ve seen Linsly quarterback Atley Cowan Atley Cowan 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Linsly | 2024 State WV at camps before and he always looks the part in those settings. Cowan was named one of the QB Camp MVPs and is always one of the top quarterbacks at any given camp. He’s put on some mass since last season which was needed and has benefitted him greatly. Cowan even played some receiver and defensive back this season for the Cadets showing off his high-level athleticism but I still firmly believe that he’s a quarterback at the next level. He’s a natural playmaker and athlete who will benefit any college program and has picked up considerable D2 attention and offers. Cowan was named to our Second Team Class AA All-State team as a utility player for his efforts this season.
Max Anderson Max Anderson 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Spring Mills | 2025 State WV – Spring Mills ’25 (Camp MVP)
Spring Mills QB/ATH Max Anderson Max Anderson 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Spring Mills | 2025 State WV was someone I was very familiar with and seemingly wrote about every week this season for our weekly standouts articles but this was the first time I got to see him in person and at a camp setting. Anderson is thought very highly of at Prep Redzone WV as he’s currently ranked as the #1 ATH in the 2025 class and was named First Team Class AAA All-State as a defensive back recently. Anderson has really worked and developed as a passer though and is becoming more of a true quarterback and not just a good athlete. He earned one of the QB Camp MVP awards which was very telling considering he wasn’t able to show just how good of an athlete he is and focused just on his arm talent yesterday evening.
Michael Thompson Michael Thompson 6'6" | 175 lbs | QB Musselman | 2025 State WV – Musselman ’25 (Camp MVP)
Whenever we get further into the off-season after the current seniors get paid their dues, Musselman 2025 quarterback Michael Thompson Michael Thompson 6'6" | 175 lbs | QB Musselman | 2025 State WV will be one of the top names on our returning players ready to break out next season. The 6’6 175 quarterback earned MVP honors at last night’s camp and took over as QB1 for the latter half of the season this year for the Applemen. Thompson’s elite size is an obvious given but he’s also a very good athlete that can move and is not a statue in the pocket. He still needs to keep adding weight to his very long frame which will benefit his game even further but at his age and size that’s pretty normal. Thompson’s best days are ahead of him at the quarterback position but he should really develop this off-season and be primed for a big senior season in 2024.
Running Backs
Xzavier Ramsey Xzavier Ramsey 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Greencastle-Antrim | 2024 PA – Greencastle-Antrim (PA) ’24 (Camp MVP)
One of the best running backs in attendance at last night’s camp was Greencastle-Antrim (PA) senior Xzavier Ramsey Xzavier Ramsey 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Greencastle-Antrim | 2024 PA . Ramsey is your classic one cut and go running back who has quick feet in short spaces. That was apparent during the individual position drills and when watching his film from his senior season. Ramsey also performed well in 1-on-1s and won numerous reps against some of the camp’s best linebackers. He rushed for over 700 yards and 5 touchdowns this season in Pennsylvania’s 5A class. Judging by his Twitter he may be under the radar right now but Ramsey is definitely an offer-worthy guy for D2 and D3 colleges.
Aaron Thomas Aaron Thomas 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Morgantown | 2025 State WV – Morgantown ’25 (Camp MVP)
Morgantown’s Aaron “AJ” Thomas is always impressive in camp settings and he was again at the Winter Exposure Showcase on Sunday night. Thomas earned one of the RB Camp MVP awards and that’s the second time that I’ve seen him earn such honors at a camp this year. He’s coming off of a very good junior season for the Mohigans which saw him rush for over 600 yards and 15 touchdowns while catching 16 passes for 194 yards and another touchdown. I was finally able to see him in person for an actual game this season at the MoHawk Bowl against rival University and all Thomas did was rush for over 200 yards. Thomas is a quality defensive back as well and it would not surprise me to see him play on the defensive side of the ball in college either.
Eli Littlejohn Eli Littlejohn 5'7" | 175 lbs | RB Nitro | 2025 State WV – Nitro ’25 (Camp MVP)
Eli Littlejohn Eli Littlejohn 5'7" | 175 lbs | RB Nitro | 2025 State WV just had a dynamic junior season for the Nitro Wildcats and he continued that success at Sunday night’s Winter Exposure Showcase camp. The 5’7 170 athlete earned Second Team as a utility player on our Class AA All-State Team and posted over 1,200 all-purpose yards as a running back and receiver this season for Nitro. Littlejohn is the type of athlete who excels in a camp setting given his twitch and wiggle which he also displayed on the football field this year. He’s a threat to score any time he touches the ball as he did 14 times this season. Littlejohn is the type of player that you just take and figure out later what position he’s going to play in college and can help your program in a number of ways.
Sean McCord Sean McCord 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB St. Albans | 2025 WV – St. Albans ’25 (Camp MVP)
St. Albans had a very tough season in 2023 so junior ATH Sean McCord Sean McCord 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB St. Albans | 2025 WV fell under my radar but all he did was come up and win a Camp MVP honor as a running back. I think he played just about every position for the Dragons this year and was one of the few bright spots for them. McCord can play WR/RB along with CB/S and with the way that he’s built it wouldn’t surprise me to see him play some more linebacker next season as well. McCord is just a “football player” who is willing and capable of helping your team in any way that he can. He’s firmly on my radar now and I’ll get him on at least the 2025 Watch List if not in the rankings in the next update.
Jayden Alexander Jayden Alexander 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Pittsburgh Central Catholic | 2027 State PA – Pittsburg Central Catholic (PA) ’27 (Camp MVP)
Another new name on my personal radar but certainly not a new name in Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh Central Catholic running back Jayden Alexander Jayden Alexander 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Pittsburgh Central Catholic | 2027 State PA . Our PA site has Alexander ranked as the 59th overall player in the 2027 class and the #5 ranked running back. That’s really saying something in a state as talent-rich and as deep as PA is so it’s no surprise that he earned one of the RB Camp MVP honors. Alexander is a little ball of dynamite with some serious wheels on him and speed to kill. By the looks of his freshman film I’m guessing that he played freshmen ball for the traditional PA power but should be in line to be a varsity contributor as a sophomore in 2024 with his playmaking ability on both sides of the ball.
