Defensive Linemen
The first player to take reps was bib #21 – better known as Seyhan Ibraimovic Seyhan Ibraimovic 6'0" | ATH James Madison | 2025 NY , a junior out of Brooklyn’s James Madison High School. Ibraimovic was deceptively quick – from his get off to how he maneuvered in tight spaces. Moreover, Ibraimovic demonstrated that he is emergent in terms of how he is using and stringing together combinations/counters of pass rush moves…… The FBS-bound Jayden Loftin Jayden Loftin 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL Somerville | 2025 State NJ was a prospect I was looking forward to witnessing like in living color again. Since I last saw at a game in October and also during last year’s spring camp circuit he has only gotten better. Loftin looked like a seasoned veteran during competition periods. One spin he took I witnessed him literally get hands-on the offensive lineman’s elbows, controlled him, then twisted him in an uncomfortable, unrecoverable posture that led to him getting to – what would have been – an easy sack…… Bergen Catholic’s CJ Edwards CJ Edwards 6'4" | 190 lbs | DL Bergen Catholic | 2026 State NJ not only earned a state championship the week prior, but also earned the Showcase’s defensive line MVP. What I liked most about Edwards was that he was violent with his hands, particularly when he went to chop an offensive lineman’s hands down. This demonstrates that he can read how an offensive lineman pass sets his hands correctly and respond to what he sees in front of him. Despite only being a sophomore, Edwards is clearly well coached as it was evident as the sky is blue that he knows to pass rush with a plan…… As the saying goes, we all can spot the prettiest girl in the room. As far as defensive line goes, those “pretty girls” are typically defensive ends. However, Sha Brece Fuller Randolph Sha Brece Fuller Randolph 5'9" | 270 lbs | DL West Babylon | 2025 NY was big, bold, and beautiful as an interior defensive lineman. Fuller had his bull rush on lock but was able to show that he understands the nuances of playing interior defensive line. On several occasions Fuller felt, and appropriately responded to, the offensive lineman’s leverage. This led to Fuller shedding blocks or drawing what would have been called a hold. Additionally, Fuller had a great sense as to when to execute a swim move…… Jaquy’ri Williams Jaquy’ri Williams 6'1" | 200 lbs | DL Elizabeth FJCA | 2024 NJ was another Elizabeth Minuteman who showed up and showed out. Aside from having a tremendous get off throughout the camp, Williams explosion led to him achieving a 9’4″ broad jump. Williams also was able to turn the corner easily without losing much speed time and time again. Combine-wise, this translated to a 7.35 second L-Drill. Lastly, Williams pulled off several great spin-and-pin moves when offensive linemen overset to his speed rush. This performance led to much attention from TCNJ’s head football coach, who was coaching his position group…… Probably a ‘tweener by my eye, Dean Mangiocavallo Dean Mangiocavallo 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Randolph | 2025 NJ showed versatility throughout the afternoon. At 6’3″ 250lbs Mangiocavallo took spins at both edge and interior, as he looks to improve heading into his senior season next fall at Randolph. Mangiocavallo was able to read an overset from either defensive position. He was quick enough to take it when given; however, he demonstrated tremendous power in his rip to shed half-hearted power steps once he did break to the inside rush lane.
