We saw a lot of really good DB play this season, and there are some serious DUDES at the position that just missed, which should tell you all you need to know about the guys that did make the list!
Besides being #1 on ESPN’s Top Plays for his behind the back interception, Adrian is also just a natural ball hawk who terrorizes WRs and QBs on a weekly basis. He is twitchy and reacts to the ball incredibly quickly, and has great hands. He has great closing speed, but typically doesn’t even need to utilize it as he is usually stuck like glue to his assignment. He doesn’t get beat deep, and has the physicality to box receivers out and bat down jump balls. His stock is going to continue to rise over the next year, and he will be one of the most sought after athletes in the state.
Purdue signee Ty Hudkins Ty Hudkins 6’0″ | 190 lbs | DB Forest Hills Central | 2024 State MI absolutely balled out both offensively and defensively en route to bringing a State Championship back to FHC! One of the best 2 way players in the state, Ty excelled at playing center field on defense and making plays from sideline to sideline. He is one of the hardest hitting DBs I have covered yet as well. His instincts and knowledge of the game continues to serve him well, and I think with the way he plays physically, he is the ideal DB prototype in the Big Ten. I am pumped to see what he does at the next level.

This dudes film is an incredible display of exactly how to play in the secondary. A lot of times he is also playing both ways and doing a ton of damage each way. Defensively the Michigan signee can play off the ball soft coverage, press out of the slot or just about anything else he needs to do. He is truly a special talent in the secondary who does a great job of reading the QBs eyes, reading the receivers hands, and has great closing speed to make a play on every pass that is thrown near him. This guy is going to play a lot of big boy football and will feel right at home as he is truly going to be someone teams game plan to stay away from.
The more I watch Drew, the more I’m starting to really think D2 is the floor for this kid. I have now seen him in games and in camps, and he consistently locks down D2 and D1 level receivers. You absolutely cannot argue the results that this kid gets no matter who he is matched up with. Drew is an extremely technically sound DB, who has a clear understanding of the game and his assignments. He does a great job of jamming guys off the line, he does a great job of staying in the hip pocket of his guy, and if there is any separation, he closes it immediately. He wins rep after rep and I really hope these schools are starting to take note.

USC is getting an absolute playmaker. Desman is one of the most productive players in the entire OAA, and one of the most gifted athletes I have gotten to watch yet. His blazing speed is great, but his physicality is especially great. He is an extremely hard runner offensively, and he is physically imposing, and it translates to the defense as well. He delivers big hits and has the big frame to completely manhandle these receivers. 50/50 balls are his all day long. USC needs help on the defensive side of the ball, and help is on the way! I predict a ton of success for Desman in college, and I think he could continue to develop into a Sunday guy.
