Continue ReadingThis is a very talented and serious group that the Lancers have in this 2026 class, and Cahoon leads that class and is one of the top linebackers across the state. He is coming off a stellar Second year season for the Lancers and won Sophomore of the Year Honors within the talent loaded WCAL at the conclusion of the season. In his second prep campaign, he went over the 100 tackle mark, and had 9 TFL’s and 1 sack. Cahoon is a high motor kid that flies around, flashes closing speed, range outside the tackles and has a quick trigger in the box when making plays behind the line. He is a violent player that can get off blocks quickly and shows elite COD/movement abilities while a sure tackler in the open field. Cahoon also shows a high IQ when sniffing out screens/draws and closes quickly while playing with a high motor at all times. He is a no brainer FBS caliber linebacker that should have a huge off-season and is one of the top defenders returning across Norcal.
Tiatia holds an early offer from UNLV, and should continue to see his stock rise this off-season, leading into his Junior campaign in 2024. He is a big kid with good size, strength and length for the inside backer position, and does a nice job scraping and filling behind the LOS while a tough tackler that explodes through contact and plays violent at the POA. He shows quick play diagnosis, plays downhill and can also provide pressure from various angles in pass rush situations. In the run game, he does a nice job at finding the windows to close in on while moving with a low hat and navigating through traffic to find ball carriers. Look for the Sophomore to be one of the top defenders across the WCAL in 2024, and turn some heads at camps and showcases this off-season.
Part of a loaded 2026 unit for the Lancers, the 2026 prospect is one of the top defensive backs northern California has to offer, regardless of class. Also taking home Sophomore POY Honors across the WCAL, Alatini is a long and rangy player that excels in coverage with fluid hips in transition, breaks quickly to the ball and is a excellent open field tackler in run support while showing closing speed and a quick trigger when breaking. He also has recovery speed and length when trailing, shows ball skills and can go up and attack the ball in the air while physical in press coverage near the LOS with his hands and shows disciplined eyes. All in all, he is a very well put together corner that can play either corner or safety at the next level, and is a no brainer P5 caliber kid at the next level with some upside due to his natural instincts and elite length for the position. Arizona and BYU have already offered, and it will not be long until other regional p5 schools do the same.
