Between these 4, they all 4 have the talent and experience to get their teams to Ford Field and possibly win a state title. This article is going to break down the 4 remaining gunslingers trying to lead their team to victory this weekend.
Probably the most highly anticipated player to watch in the entire state this weekend, Bryce comes into this game looking for his 3rd straight state title. He’s the best player in the state, and is somehow still improving every time I see him. His accuracy is elite, and his decision making on where to put the ball continues to grow. He can cover the receiver with the ball including back shoulder, over the top, and any other throw he’s asked to make. He is going to be tough to stop for the 3 remaining teams.

To continue the ride Davison is on, they’ll need Sawyer to continue to work under pressure and be as unflappable as he was last game against Rockford. He is an accurate QB with an ability to move around in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield. He’s smart with the ball and doesn’t put it in harms way, which will be key against the opportunistic and athletic Belleville secondary. He has the receivers to make plays, and he typically does a really good job of hitting them in stride and letting them do the work. If they want to pull off the upset, they’ll need him to play an A+ game like he did last round as well.
Nance comes into this game with a ton of playoff and big game experience. He has a deadly deep ball, and can get it done on the ground as well. Just in the regular season he threw for 23 TDs and over 2300 yards, and carried the ball for 6 more TDs and over 500 yards. He’s going to lead an explosive offense looking to outscore a Southfield A&T squad that can score with anyone in the state. Nance is going to need to use all the tools in his bag to grit out a big win this round, and possibly the state finals.
Highlights
The Kansas commit is going to be leading one of the best teams they’ve had in recent history at Southfield A&T this weekend against a tough West Bloomfield defense. His arm strength is so impressive. He’s an extremely athletic QB with a nice ability to extend plays while keeping an eye downfield, and then zinging darts to his receivers that DBs struggle to defend. He’s elusive in the pocket, and tough to take down in space. Overall, I absolutely love his ability and I am pumped to see how he handles the game Saturday to get his team to Ford Field.
