Giovanni Harte
Giovanni Harte
Mission Hills leaned heavily on their junior RB in their 27-13 win over San Marcos in the quarterfinals, totaling 36 carries for 280 yards and all 4 of Mission Hills’ TDs. Harte was exceptional at reading his blocks at the LOS, cutting to space, and getting downhill with speed. He was strong on off-tackle runs where he proved to be difficult to wrap up in space. Harte’s put together a productive junior season with over 1,100 yards and 13 TDs on the season. #2-Mission Hills faces #3-El Camino in the D-I semifinals this Friday at 7pm.
Jackson Diehl
Jackson Diehl
Diehl completed 14/28 passes for 182 yards and a TD and rushed for another 154 yards and 2 TDs on 14 carries in La Jolla’s 28-22 win over Central. He flashed his speed and elusiveness on a 70-yard scramble for a TD and showed natural velocity fitting into tight windows over the middle. Diehl’s established himself as one of the most athletic dual-threat QBs in the county with over 3,200 total yards (2072 pass, 1100 rush) and 37 total TDs (25 pass, 12 rush). #3-La Jolla faces #2-Rancho Bernardo in the D-II semifinals this Friday at 7pm.
Fisher totaled 191 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries in Rancho Bernardo’s 28-18 quarterfinal win over Bishop’s. He showed great quickness and burst through the hole, and the speed to breakaway at the second/third levels. His most explosive play came on an 80-yard TD where he found a narrow cutback lane and exploded through the secondary. Fisher’s been a major stock-riser under first-year head coach, Eric Weddle, with over 1,500 rushing yards and 11 TDs on the season. #2-Rancho Bernardo faces #3-La Jolla in the D-II semifinals this Friday at 7pm.
Highlights
Mangini continued to show his versatility and pure all-around ability in La Jolla Country Day’s 35-7 quarterfinal upset over West Hills. The Navy-commit completed 12/23 passes for 201 yards and 3 pass TDs, rushed for another 2 TDs, and posted 2 sacks and an INT on defense. Mangini’s a uniquely versatile talent with plug-and-play upside at the next level. #6-LJCD faces #2-Fallbrook in the D-III semifinals this Friday at 7pm.
Reese accounted for 2 of the team’s 4 INTs and caught a TD in El Camino’s 28-21 quarterfinal win over Cathedral Catholic. He’s a lockdown perimeter CB with great coverage instincts, natural athleticism and WR-quality ball skills. He’s versatile in his usage with ability to play physical press-man and soft zone over the top. Reese is establishing himself as one of the top CBs in San Diego’s 2025 class. #3-El Camino will need continued playmaking in the secondary from Reese when they face one of San Diego’s top QBs ( Troy Huhn Troy Huhn 6’4″ | 195 lbs | QB Mission Hills | 2026 State CA ) and #2-Mission Hills in the D-I semis this Friday at 7pm.
