However, I believe there are some legit college players who have gone slightly overlooked. Below, I highlight five prospects who have had terrific 2023 seasons.
James Rexroat James Rexroat 6’4″ | 225 lbs | TE Republic | 2024 State MO committed to Memphis on July 12th. The versatile playmaker has been dominant in his final season of high school ball, and I know schools closer to Missouri are kicking themselves for not recruiting James earlier. James’ combination of size and speed shows gaining vertical separation on off man defenders. Good route running and tracking ability displayed when aligned in the slot highlights James’ ability to be a versatile receiving threat at the next level. Strong hands and good athletic ability gets displayed when James must extend above defenders’ heads to complete contested catches.
Bryce Page Bryce Page 6’5″ | 220 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State MO has been at the forefront of Kearney’s charge to the state championship. Bryce received Thanksgiving wishes from Big 12 to NAIA schools, so be on the lookout for schools in the region to make a push for Bryce’s commitment sooner rather than later. Bryce’s size and power shown blocking defensive backs in space highlights his ability to be a versatile chess piece in college. A good combination of speed and acceleration shows exploding off the line of scrimmage and gaining vertical separation on defenders when running up the seam. Bryce’s athleticism, huge radius, and strong hands suggests he has all the tools to be a redzone threat at the next level.

After Jefferson City’s postseason run, I am confident Brody Smith Brody Smith 6’5″ | 275 lbs | OL Jefferson City | 2024 State MO will no longer be the most underrated 2024 tackle in Missouri. He was offered by Marshall this month, so be on the lookout for schools throughout the Midwest to come in late to Brody’s recruitment this winter. OL coaches love the effort and physicality Brody displays dropping multiple defenders throughout one play. Good size, speed, and quickness allows Brody to stay in front of defenders in space and clear out linebackers with ease at the point of attack. Brody’s rare combination of length, athleticism, and power suggests he can play multiple OL positions in college.

Vi’Naz Cobb
Vi’Naz Cobb
Vi’Naz Cobb is set to be the next Cardinal Ritter defender whose recruitment blows up after a dominant postseason. Vi’Naz received an offer from Iowa State last week, so don’t be surprised when the offers start rolling in once the playoffs end. Good length & strength shows ripping the ball away from receivers at the catch point. Vi’Naz displays good acceleration and tackling ability pursuing ball carriers in space. Vi’Naz shows a great combination of speed, quick feet, and an explosive change of direction in pass coverage that suggests he has all the tools to thrive as a man defender in college.
Tyron Steed Tyron Steed 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Cardinal Ritter | 2025 IL is a part of a Cardinal Ritter team looking to win the state championship for a second straight year. His rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism gives him the chance to play multiple positions in college. Good length, athleticism, and awareness shows when Tyron changes direction and elevates over receivers to take catchable balls away for interceptions. Good instincts, acceleration, and tackling ability displayed filling in the run game highlights Tyron’s versatility as a defender in college. Watch for Tyron’s versatility to be displayed in the championship game with the way he aligns all over the field.
