On Saturday the Liberty North Eagles face off against the CBC Cadets in Columbia (Mo.) at the University of Missouri in the Class 6 State Championship game. Here is a look at some of the top players to watch for.

CBC

WR [player_tooltip player_id='126237' first='Jeremiah' last='McClellan'] 2024 - The Ohio State commit is a player that has been part of two state championships already, and was a big part of them winning last week's semifinal game against De Smet, the same way he did in the 2022 semifinal game against Liberty North. The senior is one of the two best football players in the state regardless of class or position. Jeremiah could line up at any position on the field and succeed. He has played WR,QB, RB, DB and special teams. You could line him up along the defensive line and he would be among the best on the field. This season he has scored 24 touchdowns and has over 1,000 yards receiving and rushing heading into the game, and has also thrown for 2 touchdowns. The big play receiver will play a key role in the Cadets success on Saturday,

QB [player_tooltip player_id='126260' first='Cole' last='McKey'] 2024 - The Illinois College commit came in last week in the semifinal game and threw for 3 touchdowns and over 200 yards after [player_tooltip player_id='285143' first='Jason' last='Wiley'] suffered and ankle injury. McKey helped lead the Cadets to a state championship last year, and will be vying to have CBC three-peat as state champs. Cole understands the offense and his receivers well, and plays within himself and the offense perfectly. He doesn't force plays and has a great football IQ. He has passed for over 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns this season.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='179185' first='Corey' last='Simms'] 2024 - Is next up among heavily recruited D1 prospects at CBC. The 6'3' 190 speedy receiver has really developed as a threat this season as he has improved his overall skills. Corey is a versatile receiver as a deep threat, mid-range and short passing game option. He can score from anywhere on the field. Simms is actually their leading receiver with 77 catches for over 1,000 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He is also a contributor as a returner.

OT [player_tooltip player_id='126244' first='Bryce' last='Parson'] 2024 - The Ohio University commit is a 4-year varsity starter and leader of offensive line. Parson is a tremendous run blocker and pass protector for his quarterback to have to work. His battle against the talented Liberty North defensive ends will be something to keep and eye on.

The Cadets have a talented stable of running backs that they utilize with 2025s [player_tooltip player_id='1305798' first='Alex' last='Morris'] and AJ Johnson, along with 2026 speedster [player_tooltip player_id='402113' first='Courtney' last='Rivers'] who has rushed for a over a combined 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns together. They actually can go deeper on the roster with talented backs who can contribute.

LB Anthony Moore 2024 - Is the leading tackler on the team with 101 total tackles. The (5'11" 205} defender is coming off a 12 tackle and a sack semifinal game in helping lead to victory.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1118566' first='Lance' last='Walker'] 2025 - A (6'2" 225) linebacker with good speed who is physical, and a big hitter and has contributed 83 tackles and 4 sacks. He has also seen some time at running back. Walker should get some serious looks from colleges in the offseason.

DE [player_tooltip player_id='830880' first='Triston' last='Abram'] 2025 - Has several D1 offers already in his first season playing varsity for the Cadets. Abram brings speed off the edge to get to the quarterback or disrupt plays in the backfield.

DB [player_tooltip player_id='328989' first='Zakiese' last='Smith'] 2025 - Is a very talented defensive back prospect who has had a breakout season for the Cadets and is starting to garner attention from colleges. Smith has 70 tackles and a team leading 8 interceptions on the year.

LIBERTY NORTH

DE/WR [player_tooltip player_id='177069' first='Jayshawn' last='Ross'] 2024 - The top uncommitted football prospect in the 2024 class in Missouri has had a great season as an edge rusher for the Eagles. Ross (6'4" 230) has 4.5 forty speed and looks like he is shot out of a cannon when rushing the quarterback. He has close to 20 sacks on the year and has also been a reliable target as a receiver on offense as well. He is a tough match-up for every team he faces.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='172304' first='Melvin' last='Laster'] 2024 - The UNLV commit is a man and dominates from his middle linebacker position. Melvin is a force up the middle, sideline-to-sideline and when he rushes the passer. The (6'2" 245) big-time defender is the leader of the defense and will play a big role in trying to stop the Cadets.

NG [player_tooltip player_id='130187' first='Darius' last='Pahmahmie'] 2024 - Is another UNLV commit and a (6'2" 305) massive DL who clogs the middle and is athletic and quick enough to get into the opposing backfield. Darius hasn't gotten the notoriety of some of his more well known teammates and fellow D1 recruits, but his play tells me he needs to be mentioned as one of their key components.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='590658' first='Tillman' last='Martin'] 2025 - Is among the top QB prospects in the very impressive and deep Missouri junior quarterback class. Martin has good size at (6'4" 195) and a big arm with good accuracy. He sees the field well, makes good reads and decisions and has good ball placement He is also athletic enough to make plays with his feet. He's thrown for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns on the season.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='185414' first='Keelan' last='Smith'] 2024 - The Nebraska commit started slow at the beginning of the year but really exploded as the year went on as a main weapon in the Eagles offense. Smith is a big target at (6'3" 200) with speed and good hands who has over 1,000 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns on the year as the main receiving target.

RB Micahjo Barnett 2024 - The Eagles leading rusher with over 1,000 yards on the season and close to 20 touchdowns. Barnett is a tough runner with good quickness who has been a 3-year varsity contributor.

RB [player_tooltip player_id='185385' first='Jacorey' last='Love'] 2024 - SEMO commit is a big play running back and receiver who is a homerun threat any time he touches the ball. One of the top athletes overall in the state's senior class. Love is also a talented safety on defense.

LB Ryan Hutson 2025 - Has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. Hutson has good speed that he uses well to play strong against the run, as well as in coverage against the pass at (6'0" 215).
