The UNLV commit is sure to keep disrupting opposing offenses in the playoffs. I was impressed at Melvin’s improved explosiveness and pass rushing ability on his senior tape. Good instincts, size, strength, and tackling ability highlight Melvin’s ideal inside linebacker skillset. A great combination of athleticism and closing speed show why Melvin is ready to contribute early in a college defense.

Melvin’s rare combination of size & speed gets displayed shooting windows and completing tackles for loss against zone stretch plays. Rare power and good instincts show finding the ball quickly in the box then flattening ball carriers without much buildup speed. Coaches love Melvin’s pass rush potential; Melvin displays good versatility as a pass rusher in a powerful bull rush and good bend & closing speed that allows him to dip under tackles off the edge.
