-Biggest gainer amongst the tailback group in the 2027 Missouri Rankings Reboot, gaining 94 overall positions and cracking the Top 5 positionally.
-Intelligent prospect with a 4.0 GPA, and put up very solid testing numbers this summer with size at 6000 184, and a 4.52×40, 10’0 broad jump, and 31.7 vertical.
-Versatile player that goes both ways, and a weapon offensively. Good feet in the hole, works in the passing game out of the backfield, elusive and evasive in space, and tough on contact. Has explosive tendencies.
-Reports a handful of lower level offers. Graded to potentially attract Division I interest with a proper showing this fall.
Burns measured in at 6000 184 at the William Jewell mega camp, popped 4.52×40, 10’0bj, 31.7vj in the testing portion. Versatile player on film aligned in the backfield, outside receiver, and safety. Future is definitely in the backfield. Has some burst through the line. Shows good feet in the hole and bursts through the other side. Runs routes out of the backfield. Can be elusive and evasive with his feet. Has make you miss ability, vision and contact balance. Really good in the the first 20-30 yards where he shows playmaking ability and explosiveness in the face of the defense. Shows toughness on contact with the ball and in the backfield. Will put a helmet to a chin in pass pro. Academic All State player with a 4.0 GPA. Has NAIA offers with a Division I grade.
One of the most overall talented athletes in the show me state.
Burns had a phenomenal 2025 season and I believe is just getting started. Going into his senior year I fully expect Burns to cement his name as one of the best backs on Missouri. What separates Burns from other backs in his class is the ability to be a huge receiving threat out of the backfield. He’s a natural wide receiver in the backfield that loves to get out and space and make people miss.
I first encountered Burns at the Prepredzone camp in St.Joseph, Missouri where he left an lasting impression on everyone in attendance. I can’t wait to see what he has in store in 2026.
