The Washington breakout underclassmen list features athletes who will make a nice jump up the rankings board when updated in the coming weeks. If you are already ranked you will likely not see yourself mentioned here.

Individuals referenced below project as 1st or 2nd team all-conference athletes, with some even being potential all state kids. Have a look as we talk on 15 offensive and defensive standouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136335' first='Bryson' last='Hodges'] 6-2 180 WR 25' Eastlake

I have personally talked on Hodges multiple times over the last few weeks. Expect him to make a big jump up the rankings board when updated. On the year he used his length consistently for over 400 yards receiving with 4 TDs, and 3 INT's defensively. Eastlake will have a chance to make a run in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165423' first='Brady' last='Jay'] 6-0 160 QB 26' Moses Lake

One of the best players in Washington you may not have heard of yet. The Sophomore QB has played as well as anyone, hitting on 74% of his passes, with close to 3000 yards and 43TDs/8 INTs in the first 8 weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136323' first='Josh' last='Menold'] 6-1 175 RB/LB 25' Skyline

Menold had a breakout season out of the backfield averaging 130+ yards per game with double digit TDs. He's a tough kid with quickness, helping Skyline to a 6-3 record during the regular season, while also impressing on D.

[player_tooltip player_id='1128444' first='Max' last='Jones'] 5-11 200 RB 26' Bellevue

Expect to hear a lot about this kid in the years ahead. Jones is a tough sophomore back who can run over or around you. On the season he is averaging close to 9 yards per carry with 600+ rushing yards and 8 TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136319' first='Colson' last='Mackey'] 6-3 180 WR 25' Richland

The 6-3 Mackey has had an outstanding year for the Bombers. He was a difference maker offensively catching 40+ passes for over 800 yards and 10 TD's, while averaging close to 20 yards per catch. Their 5-4 record was not typical, but he will be a 1st team all-conference kid.

[player_tooltip player_id='1095822' first='Elijah' last='Andersen'] 6-2 180 RB/S 25' Woodland

The 2A GSHL champs were led by Anderson who had one of the most impressive regular seasons of any player in Washington. Through 8 weeks he accounted for close to 1700 rushing/receiving yards and 25 TDs, while making close to 70 tackles on D.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136376' first='Jaden' last='Brown'] 5-9 195 RB 25' Mountain View

The Thunder have been beating people badly and at 8-1 and have a real shot in the playoffs. Brown has been a standout out of the backfield, averaging 8.5 yards per carry, with 6 TDs and close to 600 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165356' first='Jadeon' last='Scranton'] Jr. 6-1 230 RB 26' Lincoln

Another tough kid who you will hear a lot about. Lincoln is always one of the top 3A programs in WA, with the future continuing to look bright, led by the likes of Scranton Jr and elite freshman QB [player_tooltip player_id='1188085' first='Sione' last='Kaho']. On the year he has rushed for over 400 yards with 3 TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='693775' first='Elijah' last='Baird'] 6-3 190 QB 25' Auburn Mountainview

The big QB should make a nice jump up the rankings board when updated doing a little bit of everything for Auburn Mountainview. On the year he hit on 60% of his passes with 14 TD's/6 INTs through 8 weeks. Even more impressive was his ability to run the ball, averaging 6.4 yards per carry with over 500 yards rushing and 6 TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='693842' first='Zaire' last='Griffin'] WR 25' Roosevelt

One of the most versatile underclassmen in Washington. Griffin excelled on both sides of the football for a Roosevelt team that finished undefeated in their conference. His 9 TDs and 28.4 yards per catch average led Washington, with 4 INTs on the defensive side of the ball as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='348170' first='Dallas' last='So'oto'] 6-0 190 QB 25' Juanita 71% com pct 120/168 1577 yds 13TDs/3 INTs #102

The Junior has had a good season leading the Rebels to a 7-2 record. Statistically he has one of the top stat lines among all QBs in the 2025 class. For the year he has hit on 71% of his passes with 13 TDs/3 INTs and 1600 yards passing through 8 weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136358' first='Kyson' last='Douglas'] 5-8 185 RB 25' Puyallup

The undersized RB has accounted for 1000+ all-purpose yards on the season and 8 TDs. Puyallup got a big overtime win over a good Curtis team to close the season, finishing 5-4 in the state's toughest conference.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165364' first='DJ' last='Darling'] 5-11 165 Slot 26' Gig Harbor

Look for Darling to do big things over the off season and rank among the state's top WR's for the 2026 class. His 23 catches for 354 yards and 2 TDs in the first 8 weeks are just a glimpse of what he will likely do in the years ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165362' first='Koven' last='Burke'] 6-2 180 WR 26' Southridge

It was a tough season for Southridge at 1-8 but Burke gives hope for the future with his play. On the year the sophomore had 20+ catches for 350 yards and 3 TDs. Look for the Suns to compete next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136395' first='Kanoa' last='Teplasy'] 5-11 160 Slot 25' Lincoln

Another talented kid coming up through the Lincoln program. Teplasy had a good year catching close to 30 passes for 300 yards and 3 TDs. You will hear his name over the off season.
