Continue ReadingHave said this in the past, this kid is pound-for-pound one of the toughest prospects I’ve come across. Looks like a safety/DB, carries a lean build, yet inserts himself into the trenches like he’s 230 pounds. In fact, he’s somewhere between 175-185 pounds soaking wet. Fearless competitor, one you can win with. Year after year, Bobby Lombardo Bobby Lombardo 6’0″ | 175 lbs | LB Lansdale Catholic | 2024 State PA is on the heels of Chirs Ulmer in terms of leading the team in tackles. Averaging about eight tackles per game. 3.6 GPA. Reads outside of the tackle well, but is equally effective between the tackles. If you want further evidence of this kid’s toughness, he’s taken snaps at center for his team, out of position necessity. A football player D2s and D3s would have the pleasure of bringing in.

Haven’t checked in on this young man since the season began, happy to see him performing relatively well. Has four games on tape, presumably injured afterward, is now back behind center for Abington. His first-four has him completing 64% of his passes, throwing for 700+ yards and running for 100+ to boot. Awesome downfield accuracy, first two reps show him placing footballs 30+ yards downfield where only his man could attempt to reel in. Majority of his rushing yards came from one long run, you can get a gist of his athleticism via this rep. Is a goal-line option to tuck and run, he’s a big kid. Top trait are definitely his deep ball location skills, but Moynihan is a solid improviser too. Saw his shrug off some defenders in the pocket too, toughness in the trenches, combined with his build should excite some local coaches.

A completely new name on my radar. Left tackle reps on tape, awesome circular torque from his hips, he stuns players early and finishes well. Looks to get hands in tight and steer in pass-pro. Looks to punch and drive in run-blocking sets. Love how he stabs and regains balance using his off-hand in pass-pro sets, I’m surprised I’m just now finding out about this kid. Has a rep or two at right tackle, yet his ability to play both sides of the OL spectrum bodes well for his stock. A to-the-whistle blocker, some kids start or finish reps, Scheuerman provides both halves. Like this kid’s game.
I usually don’t include prospects with offers in these, I’ll turn a blind eye to the Rochester offer Andrew Cook Andrew Cook 5’11” | 215 lbs | LB Lower Merion | 2024 State PA currently holds. Had a phenomenal game while I was in attendance against Penncrest. Fourth and third-down stops all game long, recorded an interception in the red zone in this one. Probably the most impactful player not named Mekhai Smith Mekhai Smith 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Lower Merion | 2024 State PA . Thick build, one he carries well, doesn’t really lumber on the move, could probably provide RB carries in an emergency situation. In fact, Cook’s midseason tape starts off with his lead-blocking at FB. Excels aligning between the B-gaps as a weak-side backer. Always around the football, great offensive instincts that he uses to his advantage at backer. Will see a bump in rank this offseason.
Another new name I added to my radar after seeing him work this past weekend. He impressed in what wasn’t a close game against Spring-Ford. Doubled as a slot wideout and boundary corner. PBUs and receptions recorded, I managed to get his one score on video as well. 6’1, 170, has a long build, both upper and lower limbs. Surprises with the ball in his hands, he can make undisciplined defenders miss with the ball in his hands, shows itself when provided carries in the backfield via sweeps. Plays the football well at DB, plays corner but can easily double as a safety at this level. That could be his future projection too. Would love to see him test in a camp setting.
Now measuring at 6’2, 180, looks every part of it on tape too. A big safety/hybrid linebacker prospect who has six cut-ups on Hudl. No mid-season out yet. Raw athlete with ingredients to cook. I think a college could get a hold of Giddens, mold him to their liking and potentially have a future starter on their hands. Size suitable for defensive line play, yet he doesn’t have too many reps at this position on tape. OLB is an obvious choice, he could also fit into schemes that value having safeties come into the box to defend the run. Sound tackler, one who likes to hit. On a team without a victory yet, so he might be an oversight to some coaches recruiting the area.
One of the better prospects on this list. 3.5 GPA, 6’3, 200 pounds, former camp standout and self-reported 4.5 40. Is coming off an injury-rdidled season, yet is still managing to put reps on Hudl. No condensed tape yet, I won’t dissect his three cut-ups, I’ll give him some time to put out a better product. All of this being said, this is a prospect who garnered real Division One attention at one point. Injury aside, Connor Adams Connor Adams 6’3″ | 200 lbs | DL North Penn | 2024 State PA should still be receiving the same attention, whether that be from FCS schools or the PSAC. I have a feeling this kid will be a steal for which ever program inevitably lands him. You don’t find edge rushers with grades like his everywhere, coupled with the measurements he puts on the paper.

Winterbottom has a 3-minute mid-season tape on Hudl that I implore anyone interested to take a peek at. Plymouth Whitemarsh likes to deploy its players in some of the more creative sets I’ve seen in Montgomery County. Winterbottom’s ability to serve as a weapon on the ground as well as the air perfectly suits this offense that utilizes both creativity of the mind and the versatility of it’s players. Screens, seams, outs, Winterbottom can be tasked with running any of the routes listed above. Can be trusted to catch the football too. Has a natural feel for the back position, this shows itself with patience after the handoff, as well as pacing in the open-field. Bit of a one-cut approach, the kid carries a load so agility isn’t his calling card. Upfield in a hurry. Agility and speed don’t equate, Winterbottom might not be Shady McCoy in the front-seven, yet Winterbottom can hit another gear if you let him open up his stride. I imagine he’s a lock for PSAC schools out East. Would be a welcomed addition to any of the local programs.
