The Batavia quarterback is having a monster final campaign. Round 1 of the playoffs was no different for the senior signal caller, as Boe led the Bulldogs to a 46-0 victory over Brother Rice. Boe accounted for over 300 yards of offense and 4 touchdowns. 226 of those yards and 3 of his touchdowns came through the air. The 6’3, dual-threat quarterback has a strong arm, elite accuracy, and fantastic athleticism. Whether he is scrambling when passing or taking it on a design QB run, Boe showcases the ability to extend plays. He is committed to North Dakota State. Before Boe heads off to Fargo, he is leading the charge for Batavia’s first state title since 2018.

Battle impressed as Downers Grove North raced to a decisive victory over Kenwood last Friday. The 5’11, 200 lb tailback rushed for 217 yards and 4 touchdowns. He possesses elite vision, shiftiness, and breakaway speed. Difficult to bring down in the open field, Battle smoothly weaves in and out of defenders. He can see them coming from a mile away, which allows him to make a one-cut move that creates separation. From there, his speed takes over on his way to the end zone. Keep an eye on this senior running back as DGN’s strong rushing attack takes on a prolific Hersey offense in Round 2.

The Illinois State commit has been a deep ball threat all season, as he did just that once again in an opening round victory for over Homewood-Flossmoor. The senior wide receiver averaged 41 yards per reception for York on Saturday, as the Dukes raced to 9-1 on the season. Mailander tallied 147 yards on 4 catches. Most impressively, he scored on 3 of those receptions. The 6’0, 175 lbs playmaker is an elite route runner, showcasing the ability to stack defensive backs and create separation with his speed. Additionally, Mailander is dangerous after the catch, as he uses a variety of moves to make defenders miss. As York continues to roll, Mailander will be a big reason why for the rest of the playoffs.
Highlights
Joe Allgood
Joe Allgood
The 6’1, 215 lbs senior linebacker from Wilmington was around the ball all day on Saturday. He finished the day with 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Allgood is a physical prospect who has a nose for the ball and can do a variety of things on the field. He is a strong pass rusher, a sure-handed tackler, and plays with a high motor that allows him to rack up big plays. Allgood is highly instinctual and can disrupt the opposing offense in a variety of ways. As Wilmington has their sights set on another state championship, Allgood will be at the center of the Wildcats stout defense.
Cale Ledergerber
Cale Ledergerber
The senior two-way player had quite the day in a Round 1 win over Walter Payton Prep. Ledergerber found the end zone twice, but it wasn’t on offense. The 6’1 running back and defensive back totaled 2 interceptions on the day, both of which he took to the house. Ledergerber is a smooth safety, as he showcases strong technique, good vision, and the athleticism to break on the ball and take it the other way. Offensively, Ledergerber rushed for 106 yards, showing off that same vision and athleticism at tailback. As Sterling prepares to take on St. Francis for the second time this season, look out for Ledergerber’s playmaking ability on both sides of the ball.
