<p>South Putnam had a considerable Round 1 win over North Central 52-0. The Eagles were led by (Jr.) QB [player_tooltip player_id='196640' first='Wyatt' last='Mullin'] went 12/16, 276 yards, 4 TDs, and had 2 carries for 38 yards. Kolby Harcourt is the (Sr.) RB to keep an eye out for in this game. He had 8 carries for 40 yards and 2 TDs in the Round 1 victory. (Jr.) WR [player_tooltip player_id='196713' first='Wyatt' last='Switzer'] and (Fr.) WR [player_tooltip player_id='1247663' first='Bransyn' last='Ensor'] were the key factors in the passing game in Round 1. Switzer had 4 receptions, 83 yards, and 2 TDs. Ensor had 3 receptions, 145 yards, and 2 TDs. The leader for South Putnam's defense was (Sr.) LB [player_tooltip player_id='541907' first='Aiden' last='Beadles'] ended up with 11 solos, 7 assists, 18 total tackles, and 4 TFLs. South Putnam will be up against a familiar foe. Indianapolis Luthern are reigning 1A state champs and beat the Eagles 42-0 in the first round last season. Luthern will be led by (Jr.) QB [player_tooltip player_id='553015' first='Jackson' last='Willis'] and (Sr.) LB Cole Snow.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Covenant Christian (6-3) vs. Riverton Parke (5-5)</h2>

<p>Covenant Christian will travel to Riverton Parke for Round 2. Covenant Christian breezed through Round 1 with a win over Parke Heritage 42-12. [player_tooltip player_id='206060' first='Connor' last='Cruz'] (So.) QB went 12/16, 233 yards and 3 TDs. He connected with (Sr.) Landen Ross and (Sr.) [player_tooltip player_id='541893' first='Luke' last='Munoz'] the most on Friday. Ross had 5 receptions, 115 yards, and 1 TD. Munoz had 5 receptions, 71 yards, and 1 TD. Lastly, for Covenant (Jr.) RB Jeremiah Dowdell had 11 carries, 74 yards, and 2 TDs. Riverton Parke did not have an issue with their Round 1 opponent against Cloverdale with a 39-14 victory. The only stats I could find from the Round 1 matchup was for (Jr.) RB Kyle Price. Price had 216 yards and 3 TDs. This will be a rematch from last season's Round 2 matchup in which Covenant Christian won 35-6.</p>

<p>West Washington is on the road against Springs Valley in Round 2. Springs Valley won in Round 1 against South Spencer 36-33. Senior RBs Konner Chase and Larron Childers led them in Round 1. Chase had 24 carries, 166 yards, and 3 TDs. Childers had 19 carries, 149 yards, 1 TD, and 10 tackles on defense. Springs Valley has a duo on the defensive line to watch out for on Friday. Jonas Hammond (Sr.) DL had 4 solos, 9 assists, 13 total tackles, and 1 TFL. Kayce Jones (Jr.) DL had 8 solos, 3 assists, 11 total tackles, and 1 TFL. West Washington had the Round 1 bye and will look for a different result against Springs Valley. West Washington lost 46-7 against Springs Valley earlier in the season.</p>

<p>North Daviess will host undefeated Providence in Round 2. North Daviess started the playoffs with a dominant 42-12 victory over Tecumseh. Player of the game was (Jr.) RB [player_tooltip player_id='887007' first='Coltyn' last='McNabb'] had 16 carries, 230 yards, 2 TDs, 3 receptions, 64 yards, and 1 receiving TD. Brock Knepp (Sr.) QB had a productive game with 93 yards passing, 2 TDs, 14 carries, 117 yards, and 2 rushing TDs. Providence continued their dominance with a 49-22 victory over Eastern Greene. Carter Lannan (Sr.) QB went 9/12, 167 yards, and 3 TDs. [player_tooltip player_id='285859' first='Thomas' last='Lynch'] (Sr.) RB had 10 carries, 63 yards, and 1 TD. [player_tooltip player_id='1561723' first='Preston' last='Kempf'] (Jr.) WR had 2 receptions, 68 yards, and 2 TDs. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='735672' first='Griffin' last='Tucker'] (Jr.) DL had 5 solo tackles and 2 TFLs. <p>Tri travels to Milan for a Round 2 matchup. Milan had a 46-0 shutout win against Cambridge City Lincoln in Round 1. Austin Green (Jr.) RB is the offensive weapon to watch for Milan. Green had 8 carries, 133 yards, and 2 TDs. Tri had a 35-0 shutout win against Knightstown in Round 1. Their two RBs, Tyler Brooks (Sr.) and [player_tooltip player_id='1196527' first='Cameron' last='Boone'] (Jr.), lead Tri. Brooks had 11 carries, 142 yards, and 2 TDs. Boone had 16 carries, 99 yards, and 3 TDs. This game will be a battle of the backfields and will see a lot of ground-and-pound football.</p>

<p>Edinburgh will be on the road against North Decatur in Round 2. North Decatur had a massive win against South Decatur 41-3 in Round 1. North Decatur will lean on (So.) RB Tyler Dean. Dean had 23 carries, 201 yards, and 3 TDs in Round 1. Edinburgh had the first-round bye and will look to turn the season around against North Decatur. The last time these two played, North Decatur won 69-0 in the regular season. Edinburgh will look to (Jr.) RB Jackson Hartwell to get it done on the ground. Hartwell has 90 carries, 458 yards, and 4 TDs this season.</p>
