Lowery is a young DB we hit as a potential breakout a while back, and so far this season, he’s been incredible. He’s poised and playing with a ton of confidence. I think just having that first year of Varsity under his feet helped him adapt and see the field better. He certainly made his mistakes as a freshman, but it’s those mistakes you only make once. After that, you understand how to make the play you missed. That’s where Lowery is in his development and it’s becoming consistent. He doesn’t have many tackles, because they don’t throw the ball his way. When QBs have tried this year, they’ve been undercut and picked off. However, his 14 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble strictly on the outside speak volumes. All solo tackles and not giving up any big plays are what you want to see with a young DB. As Lowery develops, he could easily become one of, if not the top, DB in this class. All the raw tools and playmaking instincts are there, it’s just up to Lowery to keep on the path he’s on.

rnGibson remains one of the best LBs in the class still on the open market. He’s having another big season and looks even better than last year. I saw him live this past Friday, and since they didn’t get the W, the way I tried to play out the Game of the Week piece, he didn’t get any love, but he had a good game. I believe it was 13 tackles on the night, but it’s how explosive this year Gibson looks that needs to be highlighted. He seems to be seeing the field and diagnosing as well as ever. He trusts what he sees and his closing speed shows that. He’s got that 6’1″ 210lbs frame that holds up in the trenches. Once he hits that collegiate lifting program, he could easily blow up to a good 230 lbs and be a prototypical LB for the next level. He’s athletic enough that he could still play on the outside and roam, but then come up and play the LOS. Through 7 games this year he’s put up 73 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 3 sacks, and Forced/Recovered 1 fumble each. Gibson’s consistency, size, and athletic ability leave him waiting to be plucked and added to a defense that wants to slow down offenses and win games.

rnJavins is a 2-way player whose future could be as wide open as he wants it to be. His size and length with the raw twitchy athletiscm he’s got is dripping with potential. He’s had success during his high school career on both sides of the ball, but I know people immediately wonder about him staying on the offensive side. If that’s the case, he’s more than talented enough to be a TE. He’s got the ball skills and vertical to be a dominant red zone threat. He’s able to bend and is fairly flexible which could help quite a bit on offense, but is huge if he goes to the defensive side. He’s a bit light so would need to bulk up some, but again, his frame and potential could allow for the development. He’s having his best year yet as well. 207 receiving yards and 2 TDs and then 47 tackles, 12 TFLs, 4 sacks, 1 pass deflected, and 2 fumbles. Javins is doing exactly what you’d hope a player with his potential should be doing on a field when he’s most often the best athlete out there. Keep an eye on Javins long-term, because he could be another sneaky Fort Wayne star.

rnKeller is on track to be a special type of player if he’s not already. The way he’s got command of the field and can cover every blade of grass is so big for that defense. He’s got great size, is physical, and has a great sense of how and where to attack the LOS. He’s going to wrap up when the ball comes his way and make the play. He doesn’t get caught looking in the backfield or flat-footed. If he did, he’d be a good enough athlete to close the gap because his closing speed is pretty impressive. All of that being said, and I could be wrong, but I believe this is his first year playing. He’s a bit raw and you can see him developing on the field from week to week, but one thing he’s always had is confidence on the field. He trusts his eyes and his athletic ability to make the play. Keller is a name that could rise as high as anyone in the class when it’s all said and done.

rnTramil is another impressive-looking DB who stands out in a good way. He’s one of the few DBs for DC who are great bus guys. Guys who look great getting off the bus and on the field. He’s in the crowd with guys like Farel and Dodo. Impressive looking and then you wait to see the ball snapped to see how they do. In this case, Tramil also checks the boxes and plays as hard and as consistently as anyone. I was at the Mooresville / Decatur Central game a few weeks back. I stand right outside of an endzone. I picked the busy endzone that week and got to see/hear a lot of on-field communication and just how those 2 teams work together. Decatur Central, they push each other. They get on each other and don’t let mistakes or excuses fly. They call you out and make you own it and earn it. Tramil is in that group as well and to see him play at a high level and get to see how he and they work together as a DB unit was cool to see. Tramil has 26 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 pass deflected. He was so close to having the interception of the year against Mooresville in the endzone but wasn’t quite able to hold on. I’m a fan of Tramil and where he’s at this year and the step he’s taken.

A Glimpse To A Southeast Star In The Making
Dean Gee Jr – Jule F Summer (FL) – DL – 6’2″ 215lbs – 2025
Gee is a Florida recruit and is as versatile and highly motored as any defensive lineman. You may be confused as to why he’s randomly on a piece in Indiana, but it’s solely because I ran into the Gee family, and being impressed with what I saw, I told them I’d add him to a piece. I try to be a man of my word, so I wanted to add him to a piece and not take away from the average Hoosier count (4-5) I look at in each piece. That being said, on the field, Gee makes me confident that standing behind him is a good decision. He’s a fantastic athlete who plays at a high level. He’s incredibly explosive and lives in the backfield. His timing off the ball is as good as they come and he’s even consistent in Special Teams. Gee is from a military family and it shows in the way he prepares for the game. Gee has a game this year with 3 sacks, 6 TFLs, 9 Hurries, 8 Tackles, and a Fumble Recovery. He’s instinctive and does a good job using his strengths and adapting during the game to offensive adjustments. At the LOS, he understands how to use his hands and has good hand placement. Small things that go a long way with development are hand placement and instincts to keep opposing hands off you, both of which Gee is phenomenal at. Gee is going to land somewhere soon and whoever lands him is getting a stud with superstar potential.
