2027 Watchlist: Offensive Playmakers

This is the freshmen class we're talking about so needless to say, it's still incredibly early in their high school career. On Monday, <strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2027-watch-list/">we released our initial 2027 watchlist.</a></strong> The first prospect rankings for this class will come out in January. Throughout the week, we've been breaking down different position groups and overall standouts in the state's 2027 class so far. In this post, we're putting the spotlight on the offensive side of the ball with the skill positions. These prospects have shined at either running back or wide receiver. Earlier this week we put a spotlight on a standout defensive lineman but wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='693998' first='Braxton' last='Daniel'] is a name on offense that you need to know about moving forward. Daniel was on our radar after this offseason and he's lived up to the hype so far this season. The Hornets are playing Daniel primarily at wide receiver but he also looks like a future tight end prospect. Daniel has a good physical frame and some athleticism to his game. The Rockets have struggled over the last month, losing five straight but they have reasons to be optimistic. They are young this season and have a few standouts in this 2027 class. Brown is one of them at the running back position and he got his varsity career off with a bang in his first varsity game. As Mount Saint Mary beat Hennessey back in week zero, Brown would score a pair of touchdowns and had an impact immediately. Brown is a good looking athlete and he plays a few other sports but he's a name to watch in football.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["693905"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Carl Albert is arguably the most talented team in the state when it comes to next level prospects and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Titans have the best running back in the state but they also have a young freshman climbing the ladder and [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] appears to be the next guy in line for that spot in the Carl Albert backfield. Matthews came into this season with a lot of hype. The Carl Albert coaches were excited to get him into high school and see what he can do. He's had limited opportunities at the varsity level but that will change starting next year when the OU commit graduates and heads off to Norman.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["649663"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"For the second straight season, Broken Arrow has one of the best freshman running backs in the state. This year, it's [player_tooltip player_id='649663' first='Octavian' last='Roberson'] that has grabbed headlines early on this season. Roberson first got our attention in the Union game when he got loose early for a long touchdown run. Roberson has been able to find the end zone a few times this season. But the Tigers have been absolutely crushed by injuries and other issues throughout the season, otherwise Roberson's breakout season would garner more attention.
