With the 2023 high school football season in the state of Kentucky behind us, I wanted to focus on some of the top players from this past season. In order to do this, I will be releasing my Regular Season All-State teams in each class. After covering the offensive side of the ball, here is my Regular Season All-State Defense for 6A.
Mikel Clack Mikel Clack 6’4″ | 185 lbs | DL Ballard | 2024 State KY is a player that has been on my radar for a while now but has exceeded his expectations this season. Clack lines up at defensive end where he is able to use his speed and athleticism to wreak havoc off the edge as a pass rusher. He finished the regular season as the statewide leader in sacks with 15.5. Clack has also showed the ability to stop the run, finishing the regular season with 94 tackles and 14 tackles for loss. He has also come away with one interception which he returned for a touchdown. Mikel doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Tyler Neal Tyler Neal 6’2″ | 220 lbs | DL St. Xavier | 2024 State KY is another 6A defensive lineman that has stood out to me this season. Neal lines up at defensive end where he has been dominant against the run. Neal currently holds an offer from Campbellsville and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.
