Dylan Clark
Dylan Clark
After a surprising 0-2 start, the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles have been on a roll thanks to the improved quarterback play from senior Dylan Clark. He rediscovered his form in a big way on Friday, completing 22 of 32 passes for 201 yards in a very efficient outing from the pocket. But he did most of his damage on the ground, totaling 72 yards on 18 carries and finding the end zone three times in a statement win at Northwood Academy. He’s a quick and creative playmaker who loves to pick up extra yards on the ground and can throw accurately on the run when he spots an open man. He’s hit the ground running after a slow start and has quickly solidified the Eagles into a top contender in SCISA 3A.
It’s hard to find a more valuable and versatile piece of a team in SCISA 3A than Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Tucker Tevepaugh. A high-octane and knowledgeable defender who has become a stud in both pass coverage and open field tackling, Tevepaugh stepped up again on Friday with 5.5 stops and one behind the line of scrimmage. He’s also one of the most effective punters in the state and showed why on Friday, averaging 42.3 yards per attempt and knocking a pair inside the 20-yard line to flip field position. He’s an invaluable piece of an Eagles team that is suddenly rolling in Class 3A as region play unfolds.
A physical linebacker with excellent hustle, James Herbert stood out for the Trinity Collegiate Titans in Friday’s contest with Augusta Christian. Herbert was flying to the football with his quick instincts and burst off the snap, making an impressive 15 tackles on defense. He’s become an excellent veteran on his unit with excellent communication skills and consistently comes up to make key stops and prevent explosive gains. He’ll be a steady force in the heart of the Titans defense who will need to come up big against some talented SCISA squads ahead.

JD Sholar
JD Sholar
A two-way star for Williamsburg Academy, JD Sholar showed out defensively to power the Stallions to a hard-fought 34-28 victory over Pee Dee Academy. He was a monster from his spot at corner, making stops all around the field with 11 tackles and two behind the line of scrimmage. He’s an alert and agile defender who can fly to the ball carrier and display strong and consistent open-field tackling. A hard-working veteran presence with championship experience, Sholar will be an integral piece of a high-flying Williamsburg defense that could be tough to beat come postseason time.
Jack Burnett
Jack Burnett
It was a strong outing all the way around for Devonte Holloman’s Pinewood Prep offense on Friday, and hybrid back/receiver Jack Burnett put up an excellent performance. The emerging sophomore was a massive part of the Panthers’ attack, catching two passes for 83 yards and a touchdown while adding an efficient 37 rushing yards on five attempts. His quickness and route mechanics were impressive and he displayed quality hands by catching a touchdown pass in stride down the left sideline. His quick legs and great instincts should allow him to find separation out wide to make explosive plays while being a trusty piece in the backfield as well.
There’s nothing that Teague Ward can’t do for his Williamsburg squad, and he came up big once again in a huge win against Pee Dee Academy. Ward set the tone with his explosive running, turning 15 carries into 134 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches for 53 yards. He was also a menace on the defensive side, adding six tackles including one behind the line of scrimmage. Ward is a proven winner and an absolute fighter who will work relentlessly on both sides of the ball. A terrific athlete and high-energy player who always seems to make the most out of every snap when he’s on the field, Ward will be the defining presence on both sides as he looks to help the Stallions earn back-to-back SCISA 2A state titles.

Jammall Fludd
Jammall Fludd
The electric season continued on Friday for standout Porter-Gaud running back Jammall Fludd. He put on a show against Ben Lippen in an impressive win, totaling 235 rushing yards and a whopping five touchdowns on 24 carries. Fludd’s elite vision helps him hit the holes quickly while anticipating defenders’ movements to make cuts downfield and find open grass. A powerful back with the strength to break through initial tackles and stay on his feet. Fludd has become the complete package of a workhorse back for a Cyclones offense on a roll midway through the season.
