It’s hard to find a more valuable and versatile piece of a team in SCISA 3A than Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Tucker Tevepaugh. A high-octane and knowledgeable defender who has become a stud in both pass coverage and open field tackling, Tevepaugh stepped up again on Friday with 5.5 stops and one behind the line of scrimmage. He’s also one of the most effective punters in the state and showed why on Friday, averaging 42.3 yards per attempt and knocking a pair inside the 20-yard line to flip field position. He’s an invaluable piece of an Eagles team that is suddenly rolling in Class 3A as region play unfolds.

It’s nice to have a weapon who can change the tide of a game with his leg, and Tucker Tevepaugh did it on Friday with a pair of beautiful punts to help Hilton Head Christian Academy notch a massive first win. The senior punting extraordinaire showed off his strong leg and pinpoint accuracy, knocking two punts over 60 yards including one inside the 5-yard-line. A top performer in Kohl’s Kicking national punting competitions, Tevepaugh also serves as a quick and athletic safety for Ron Peduzzi’s Eagles. He’s a veteran with many skills who will prove crucial to his squad the rest of the way.
