There’s nothing that Teague Ward can’t do for his Williamsburg squad, and he came up big once again in a huge win against Pee Dee Academy. Ward set the tone with his explosive running, turning 15 carries into 134 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches for 53 yards. He was also a menace on the defensive side, adding six tackles including one behind the line of scrimmage. Ward is a proven winner and an absolute fighter who will work relentlessly on both sides of the ball. A terrific athlete and high-energy player who always seems to make the most out of every snap when he’s on the field, Ward will be the defining presence on both sides as he looks to help the Stallions earn back-to-back SCISA 2A state titles.

A defending state champion in SCISA 2A, Teague Ward delivered a strong game for the Williamsburg Academy Stallions on both sides of the ball in a hard-fought win over Florence Christian. Ward was the difference-maker to move the chains, turning 13 carries into 133 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches for 15 yards. He was a menace on defense too, using his quick mobility and physicality to notch four tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry. An elusive playmaker out in open space who always shows up with an extra edge on defense, Ward might be the most complete player in SCISA 2A this year.

This is the second of two Williamsburg Academy running backs that we’ve talked about in the last few weeks. Ward is like a battering ram at running back: Can make great cuts at the line of scrimmage, can run from sideline and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He’s tough to bring down because of his size and he will run defenders over. That same physicality and toughness translates over on defense as he can come up from his linebacker and lay a solid hit on the ball carrier, as he finished with 96 tackles in 2022. He had 86 carries for 1032 yards and 15 TDs.
