Today, we will be focusing on the offensive side of the ball as we highlight some high-level junior wide receiver prospects. Without any further ado, here’s my list of some highly impactful 2025 wide receivers to watch in week four of competition.
Highlights
At the top of my list of notable performers is Joakim Dodson Joakim Dodson 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Baylor | 2025 State TN , a 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver at Collierville High School. Despite a close loss to Bartlett last Friday, Dodson made his presence known for the Dragons offensively. What I like about Dodson is his footwork, physical edge and breakaway speed. Dodson additionally proved his catching ability down the stretch and in the endzone, maneuvering the field and muscling past defenders to get open for his quarterback.
Highlights
I am additionally impressed with Ben Hubbard Ben Hubbard 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Ravenwood | 2025 State TN , a 5-foot-10, 165-pound wide receiver at Ravenwood High School. Hubbard was a crucial piece of the Raptors’ offense in last week’s 35-7 win over Cane Ridge. In addition to excellent size, speed and versatility down the stretch, what stands out about Hubbard is his route-running ability and physicality in coverage, proving he’s both an efficient catcher and strong enough to stun defensive backs to get open for quick passes and deep shots.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Aja Jones Aja Jones 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR Marshall Co. | 2025 State TN , a 5-foot-10, 160-pound wide receiver at Marshall County High School. Jones was a gamechanger for the Tigers in last Friday’s 20-11 win over Station Camp. What makes Jones such a difference-maker is his breakaway speed off the snap as well as his impactfulness on deep passes into the backfield. Jones also impresses me with his ability to outrun and overpower the defense in coverage, hauling in challenging passes under pressure.
Highlights
Another skilled prospect to watch out for is Clayton Merrill Clayton Merrill 5'10" | 180 lbs | WR Brentwood | 2025 State TN , a 5-foot-10, 165-pound wide receiver at Brentwood High School. Merrill made his presence known for the Bruins in their 43-6 route of Hendersonville last week. What I like about Merrill is his footwork and ability to use bursts of speed to run right through the defense on short passes. Merrill’s ability to use his physicality to stun the defensive backs and force his way into the redzone have also contributed to his offensive success so far this season.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is Maclean Copeland Maclean Copeland 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Page | 2025 State TN , a 5-foot-9, 160-pound wide receiver at Page High School. Copeland was a strong offensive performer for the Patriots in their 35-17 victory over Franklin last Friday. In addition to solid athleticism and movement, what stands out about Copeland is his speed along the edge and ability to evade defensive contact, and blast into the backfield. Another aspect of Copeland’s playstyle that catches my attention is his ability to push off defenders to get open for quick passes off the snap.
