It's time to finally highlight one of my favorite teams in the state; Caldwell. It has been a long time since Caldwell has lost a game, or even been challenged to the fullest. However, this Friday Caldwell will go up against an undefeated and talented Hanover Park. Caldwell returned a lot of talent from last year, and the players essentially picked up where they left off. [player_tooltip player_id='1021087' first='Louie' last='Anemone'] has been having an impressive start to his season, running for 277 yards and 5 touchdowns, while also passing for 377 and 4 touchdowns. The two way starter [player_tooltip player_id='1021082' first='Joey' last='Marinello'] has been impacting the game every moment he is on the field. Out of the backfield, he has ran for 376 yards and 6 touchdown, and while on defense, has racked up 28 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. Helping him out on the defensive side of the ball is [player_tooltip player_id='1057673' first='Jake' last='Gruzas'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1040427' first='Michael' last='Mignone']. Jake has been a presence in coverage as he has brought in 3 interceptions and returned two of those for touchdowns. Michael has been one of the key players applying the pressure on opposing QBs, bringing the quarterback to the ground 3 times and 5 TFLs.

Hanover Park has had a remarkable start to their season, showing they are for real with a 14-7 win over Mountain Lakes last weekend. As mentioned in last week's addition, [player_tooltip player_id='1021111' first='Hector' last='Lopez'] III has been the player opponents have to worry about on defense. He is averaging 8.75 tackles a game and has 2 sacks and 2 interceptions so far this season. Also on defense is [player_tooltip player_id='1021109' first='Joey' last='Filippone'], who is just behind Hector with 27 tackles on the season and a forced fumble. Offensively, [player_tooltip player_id='1002361' first='Joey' last='Borrello'] continues to show that he can hurt opponents on the ground and through the air. The junior QB has tossed for 582 yards and 5 touchdowns, and is also the leading rusher on the team with 238 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns.

Donovan Catholic (4-0) vs. St. Joseph (4-1)

Donovan Catholic is another favorite of mine within the state. This Saturday, they have their toughest matchup to date in St. Joseph. Donovan Catholic shut out Wall last weekend 35-0, so they are hoping they can continue that type of play into this weekend. Donovan Catholic can hurt a defense in multiple ways, but what can always get the offense going is their run attack led by [player_tooltip player_id='284069' first='Najee' last='Calhoun']. Truly one of my favorite RBs in his class, Najee has tallied up 530 yards 7 touchdowns so far. Leading the way for Najee is [player_tooltip player_id='284066' first='Kai' last='Pritchard'], who could be one of the top OL talents in the state.

Donovan Catholic's opponent for this weekend is a perennial powerhouse in St. Joseph. Starting the season 4-1, St. Joseph's brought it to St. Peter's last weekend 40-28 and even shut out Don Bosco earlier in the season. This is another offense that is strong on multiple fronts. [player_tooltip player_id='172836' first='Patrick' last='Grusser'], St. Joseph's QB, has been the duel threat every defense fears. With 998 passing yards and 6 touchdowns through the air, Patrick has the ability to take off with it as well, as he has accumulated 256 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. The Pittsburgh commit [player_tooltip player_id='172517' first='Yasin' last='Willis'] is a another player that is not easily stopped, rushing for 452 yards and 7 touchdowns in five games. To fully complete this team, the defense is spearheaded by Ramin Farzaie and [player_tooltip player_id='475348' first='Jahmir' last='Joseph']. Jahmir is a name most in the state are familiar with at this point since he is one of the top corners in New Jersey, and he has been showing it with 26 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions to go with it. Ramin has been holding his own at the line, bringing in 19 total tackles and 3 sacks on the season. This is one of my favorite matchups for the weekend, with some of the best talent that New Jersey has to offer.
