This article will cover my 2 standouts from each team without going deep. We will stay within the zone of providing insight into the talent that stood out on the field last week.
Omaha North vs Omaha Central
https://twitter.com/iambjlouisrnOnly a sophomore, Louis has the size, speed and strength of an upperclassman ready to transition to the collegiate level. Louis put his 3 sport athleticism on display last Thursday playing well in coverage, making chase down tackles and even pressuring the quarterback. the 6/1″ 210lbs Linebacker will be a rising star in these terrific linebackers classes over the next few years.
Highlights
https://twitter.com/D1onovan4rnOne of the top defensive backs in state, I have seen Jones twice this year and have came away impressed both times. A solid 6-foot 176lb frame allows Jones to play physical at the safety position. He has great pass breakup skills and can lay the lumber with some of the best in the state. Alot of attention, rightfully so, gets paid to the Vikings defensive line but the role that Jones plays on the defense as a back-end gate keeper is also a vital role, and a lot of receivers pay attention to where the Husker commit is at when crossing the middle of the field.
https://twitter.com/HaynieKylonnrnHaynie has burst onto the scene and is catching everyone’s eye on the high school football scene. The 5’10” 200lb freshman, yes freshman, runs like a full-grown man requiring multiple defenders to bring him down. He averaged just under 6 yards a carry against a stout Vikings line while gaining 76 rushing yards on the night. Haynie has a quick burst which puts his opponents at a disadvantage, even using it on defense at the linebacker position. Haynie had a big sack at an appointment time of the game. Haynie has put the state on notice and just might be the next great back at a school that has had some of the best to ever do it in Nebraska.
https://twitter.com/DaShawn1213rnAlready receiving an offer from Nebraska his freshman year, Prince is starting to come into his own his sophomore season. The 6’3″ receiver, creates match up problems with his length and speed. Prince had 74 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns on the night. He put his full bag on display with sideline catches, slants in the middle of the field and high pointing balls in the redzone. Prince will be regarded as one of the best receivers in the state the next couple of years.
Bennington vs Elkhorn
https://twitter.com/kyler_lauridsenrnA state champion wrestler, Lauridsen is an animal on the football field. He flies around with reckless regard for his body or his opponents. Not only did Lauridsen rack up 12 tackles, 3 of the for a loss, he also intercepted a pass and took it 60 yards to put his team in command of the game. His energy and hustle lead by example and is one of the reasons the Badgers defense is the most feared in Class B.

https://twitter.com/archer_quintonrnBennington thrives on a strong run game, and it has been what has led them to back-to-back state titles. Archer has stepped into the role and has not disappointed, he was second in Class B in rushing yards and averaged over 6 yards a carry. Friday night, Archer grinded his way by picking up tough yards which led to a couple big runs during the game. He helped wear down the Antler defense with physical play and always falling forward when he touched the ball. Archer has proven to be one of the top backs in Class B and is the engine behind the Badgers offense.

https://twitter.com/LamskiCharliernOutside of Lauridsen, Lamski showed to be the best player on the field. He provided plays for the Antlers when they needed with possession type catches and got vertical to make big chunk plays. His 6’3″ 200lb frame, was a matchup problem for Bennington and he used it to his advantage. Lamski made a spectacular catch over a defender to score the Antlers only touchdown and even made some plays on defense. We still get another year of Lamski and I am sure his mailbox will be filling up with college attention very soon.

https://twitter.com/MVillwokrnVillwok, a recent commit to Chadron state for wrestling, caught my eye with his physical presence. He has the strength to fight off blocks and make tackles. He has the speed to shoot gaps and make plays in the backfield. He has the mindset to drop the hammer and rent out space in opponent’s mental landscapes. Villwok seemed to be the only Antler defender who could match the Badgers physicality. His wrestling background and strength make Villwok a slept-on linebacker prospect.
