While we added a 63 new names to the Class of 2024 rankings, the bigger story might be the 29 previously included players who made significant upward moves.

These 29 have spent their time since the end of last season - including the last two rankings cycles - proving to us that they are not done climbing the ladder. In most cases, there's still room for improvement, sure, but just how much those below have already improved their stock is impressive in and of itself.

Here are the Stock Risers of the 2024 class.

NOTABLE JUMPS

[player_tooltip player_id='208353' first='Quincy' last='Rhodes'] DB, South Florence (Up 16 spots) - Arguably the biggest ball-hawking interception machine in the state over the last three seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='771065' first='Yannick' last='Smith'] WR, Summerville (Up 17 spots) - Everyone knows Summerville wants to get the ball to Smith and, yet, he's consistently productive.

[player_tooltip player_id='448983' first='Wilson' last='Nash'] LB, Camden (Up 17 spots) - Looking entirely possible that Nash will easily eclipse 200 career solo tackles before the end of the regular season.

[player_tooltip player_id='340392' first='Sam' last='Crocker'] P, Philip Simmons (Up 20 spots) - Crocker is going to be under strong all-star game consideration after improving on an already stout skill set.

[player_tooltip player_id='402500' first='Malachi' last='Washington'] RB, Myrtle Beach (Up 21 spots) - The offense took an early hit, then decided Washington and his 200-yard games were a solid back-up plan.

[player_tooltip player_id='771237' first='Quadir' last='Scott'] WR, Socastee (Up 23 spots) - Back in more of a natural spot than a year ago, Scott is simultaneously still being asked to run some non-traditional sets.

[player_tooltip player_id='448995' first='Austin' last='Cunningham'] ATH, White Knoll (Up 23 spots) - Cunningham blew away combine after combine in the offseason, and his early season injury won't erase his wheels upon return.

[player_tooltip player_id='589017' first='Javion' last='Lammie'] DL, Crestwood (Up 23 spots) - For all of the offensive weapons who are churning out headlines, Lammie has been huge to get the ball back on that side.

[player_tooltip player_id='771236' first='Mark'Quelle' last='Moser'] OL, Richland Northeast (Up 24 spots) - After slimming back down, Moser is starting to look like one of the more dominant interior linemen in South Carolina.

[player_tooltip player_id='771063' first='Timir' last='Hickman-Collins'] LB, Indian Land (Up 27 spots) - The Florida State commitment just keeps getting bigger, stronger and even more reliable for this defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='771223' first='Calvin' last='Jackson'] DL, Boiling Springs (Up 28 spots) - Jackson is an explosive pass rusher who in a matter of a few steps can close a large chunk of distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='262434' first='Juels' last='Huntley'] ATH, Florence Christian (Up 31 spots) - Huntley might very well lead his team in rushing yards, receiving yards and tackles this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='589051' first='KJ' last='Asbury'] RB, Philip Simmons (Up 32 spots) - Now that he's a dedicated tailback, it appears Asbury is ready to leave his mark on this young program.

[player_tooltip player_id='728148' first='David' last='Matthews'] LB, Ridge View (Up 33 spots) - We already knew he could rack up tackles. He's now a consistent presence in opposing backfields, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='448997' first='Davion' last='Malloy'] WR, Goose Creek (Up 37 spots) - Malloy constantly has to prove himself against a stout schedule full of teams game-planning against him.

[player_tooltip player_id='295367' first='Gabe' last='Cusack'] QB, Marion (Up 40 spots) - From game to game, there's no telling if he's going to be asked to tuck it and run or unleash his big arm.

[player_tooltip player_id='267453' first='Andre' last='McFadden-Pressley'] DL, Lake City (Up 40 spots) - McFadden-Pressley is averaging three tackles for loss per games against some lofty competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='589062' first='Kalil' last='Moody'] ATH, Crestwood (Up 40 spots) - His first three receptions of the year went for 162 yards and three touchdowns. He's an even better cornerback.

[player_tooltip player_id='208342' first='McKendrie' last='Douglas'] QB, Hartsville (Up 43 spots) - Douglas isn't asked to throw a ton in this split-T offense, but when he is, he can make a potent offense even better.

[player_tooltip player_id='589052' first='Derrick' last='Salley'] WR, Ashley Ridge (Up 46 spots) - The light that started to come on at the end of last year? Yeah, it's all the way on now. Salley has had a huge first four games of his senior year.

BIGGEST MOVERS

[player_tooltip player_id='239076' first='Zion' last='Dobson'] ATH, Hampton County (Up 51 spots)

The only reason we haven't switched his position to running back full time is because we know how much he can do in other spots. For the time being, his 10-yards-per-carry average will more than suffice.

[player_tooltip player_id='267473' first='Courtlyn' last='Brunson'] ATH, Trinity Collegiate (Up 64 spots)

Brunson is rushing the ball, catching passes, picking off others, making tackles and returning kicks. His numbers in any position alone would stand out. What he does all together is that much more impressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='267466' first='Dashun' last='Reeder'] RB, Christ Church (Up 67 spots)

Reader is on track to break the 4,000-yard career rushing mark somewhere around second or third quarter of his next game. He's already rushed for 60 career touchdowns and after rushing for 2,000 yards last year alone, he's on a short list of tailbacks capable of hitting it again in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='141041' first='Jadyn' last='Simpkins'] DB, Midland Valley (Up 75 spots)

Simpkins earned a bump from the triple digits because of how well he's performing on the island this fall. He's developing into one of the better cover cornerbacks in the state and has helped slow down some dynamic offenses already this year by showing off how good of a tackler he is, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='771227' first='Albert' last='Perkins'] LB, AC Flora (Up 90 spots)

After Braxton Burton elected to reclassify and graduate early, Perkins slipped into the role of the Falcon defense's top player. Perkins is capable of being a big tackle numbers guy or utilizing his speed to come off the edge. Either way, forgetting where he is lined up is a huge mistake for opposing offenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='451249' first='Jaydon' last='Eason'] DL, Silver Bluff (Up 98 spots)

Even while playing alongside two Shrine Bowl selections, Eason is a game changer. The defensive tackle re-discovered his groove after transferring to Silver Bluff (from North Augusta) during the offseason. Eason has already put up some video game-like numbers here and there and will be a force on the Class 2A level for what appears to be another two-plus months.

NEW TO THE TOP 10

[player_tooltip player_id='448980' first='Shaikh' last='Thompson'] DL, Hilton Head (Up six spots)

We thought Thompson showed us a near-perfect offseason, which is why he catapulted up the rankings in each of the last two cycles. He wasn't done yet. The big edge rusher is proving he's a Power 5-quality player every time he steps on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='208338' first='Braylon' last='Staley'] WR, Strom Thurmond (Up 10 spots)

We hit the pause button on Staley some in the Spring when we found out he was probably transferring from Aiken and wanted to see where he'd land. But after only a few games at Strom Thurmond, the University of Tennessee verbal commitment has proved just how dangerous he can be.

NEW NO. 1

[player_tooltip player_id='91348' first='Traevon' last='Dunbar'] RB, Midland Valley (Up six spots)

We aren't going to say that Dunbar is going to do everything that LaNorris Sellers did for South Florence a year ago. But we're not going to say he can't prove to be a once-in-a-generation player for the Mustangs' program, either. Everyone on the Midland Valley roster is feeding off Dunbar's electricity - and, more importantly, his insane production. He needed just four games to reach the 1,000-yard mark and is a strong game or two away from getting back to flirting with the state's all-time rushing record pace.
