A breakout star with his leg for Philip Simmons, Sam Crocker has earned the coveted kicker spot for the South squad at this year’s Cooperatives Bowl. Crocker has been consistent this year in both his kicking and punting duties, posting a 35.6-yard average on punts with six attempts knocked inside the 20-yard line. He showed the power in his leg to help the Iron Horses pick up a massive win over Beaufort, notching six touchbacks and hitting a 23-yard field goal. Philip Simmons will need Crocker to step up on special teams and be the difference in a crowded Class 3A postseason gauntlet this November.

A quickly rising talent for the Iron Horses, Sam Crocker has become a versatile specialist on the rise in the Class of 2024. He’s got tremendous mechanics and skill as a punter, consistently delivering accurate kicks to pin his opponents back. He delivered a spectacular performance against Georgetown earlier this season, recording five touchbacks and a flawless punt that was downed at the 1-yard-line. He’s knocked five of his 10 punts inside the 20 this year and could be an important factor in a massive Region VIII-3A clash this week against Beaufort.
