6A Games of the Week

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Take a look at the 6A games of the week: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pinnacle @ ALA-Queen Creek </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pinnacle enters the contest unbeaten so far at 4-0 and are fresh off a 27-7 win over rival Horizon. [player_tooltip player_id='368975' first='Wyatt' last='Horton'] has been nothing short of impressive and has really hit a different window in all phases such as maturity, position IQ, skill level, and leadership. He possesses excellent command in that Pinnacle offense and has done an excellent job putting the ball where only his receivers can get it. Pinnacle's schedule doesn't do them any favors, as they have Chaparral, Liberty, O'Connor, Centennial, and Saguaro all left to go, potentially with the hardest remaining schedule in the state. ALA-QC has accepted the challenge to a new conference with a new QB and has been looking dangerous these past 3 weeks. They come into Friday night 3-1 with their lone loss being that week 1 loss vs Saguaro, and they're fresh off of a 24-10 win over O'Connor. [player_tooltip player_id='115518' first='Enoch' last='Watson'] continues to get tested by some of the state's best, which is why he's proving he belongs in that top QB's in the state convo. It's a whole different atmosphere coming from Coconino up to 6A, but Watson has looked dialed in and is catching stride here in 2023. <img class="wp-image-758296" style="width: 330px" src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2023/04/IMG_1361.jpg" alt=""></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Highland @ Chandler </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Highland will roll into Candler with a 3-1 record thus far after beating Mountain Ridge, Basha, and most recently Campo Verde. Their lone loss comes against Lone Peak (UT), which is a tough one to knock them for as it's always tough preparing for an out of state opponent. [player_tooltip player_id='704775' first='Kalen' last='Fisher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='169432' first='Kody' last='Cullimore'] have been two guys that have exploded for Highland this fall as they're hitting a different level. Both of which have stepped up a large amount to be those trustable playmakers. Chandler starts the season 4-0 and hasn't had a close game yet. They're fresh off a blowout win over Corona del sol 42-0 and also secured a W 2 weeks ago over California based Orange Lutheran on a 35-10 win, which has been their closest game of the year. Chandler's success is highly due to the dual threat QB [player_tooltip player_id='169416' first='Blake' last='Heffron'] who really emerged out of nowhere to be that electric, highlight reel type of kid to bring that juice to the Chandler offense and bust out numerous explosive plays. A big test for both teams at the midway point in the season, and I think we could see these guys go at it again in the open division playoffs, barring on seeding. <img class="wp-image-990104" style="width: 350px" src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2023/09/16222172_1e64b2074b7f4f4db58046340ba1dc64.jpg" alt=""></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Liberty @ Corona Centennial (CA)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Liberty holds a 4-0 record thus far and looks like the best team in the state right now. Nobody has been able to give them a tough game yet, so they'll travel out to California to take on Corona Centennial. These AZ-CA games are always a great atmosphere and frequently shakes things up between the two states, and I'm not sure Corona Centennial realizes what kind of Liberty squad they're getting. Explosive from top to bottom with a dual threat QB [player_tooltip player_id='115509' first='Navi' last='Bruzon'], and multiple fly around players on D. Liberty's schedule gets progressively tougher as the season moves on, but I have to believe they had this one circled early on. Corona Centennial comes into the contest 2-2, but don't let that record fool you. They're two losses are against national powerhouses Bishop Gorman (NV) 56-28 and Mater Dei (CA) 28-14. Their two wins are also against powerhouse teams which were Santa Margarita (CA) and Punahou (HI).
