Week 4 gave us several exciting games with some impressive individual performances. While it was hard to pick from all of the strong performances from this past weekend, here are my top offensive performances in the state of Kentucky from Week 4.
Clay Hayden Clay Hayden 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Beechwood | 2025 State KY is off to a very impressive start to his junior year as this is his third straight week making my top performers list. Hayden led Beechwood to an impressive victory over Simon Kenton, completing 24/34 passes for 433 yards and five touchdowns. Clay looked very good throwing the deep ball, showing the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride. He also showed the ability to scramble outside the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Hayden also showed the ability to make plays on the ground when needed, scoring one rushing touchdown. While Hayden doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has proven that he has the talent to play quarterback at the next level.
Highlights
After making my top performers list in Week 1, Tyson Sammons Tyson Sammons 6’0″ | 195 lbs | QB Greenup County | 2025 State KY finds his name on my list again this week. Sammons led Greenup County to a victory over East Carter this past week, completing 12/15 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns. As a passer, he has an impressive quick release and has solid accuracy, showing the ability to hit his receivers out of their breaks. He also displayed his true dual-threat ability this past week, running the ball 13 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.
Another quarterback that impressed this past week was Blaze Berry Blaze Berry 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Eminence | 2025 State KY from Eminence. Blaze led his team to a victory over Pineville, completing 26/36 passes for 502 yards and seven touchdowns. Berry showed great improv ability when the pocket broke down, showing the ability to scramble around while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. He also showed impressive arm strength which he used to stretch the field in the deep passing game and fit passes into tight windows in the short/intermediate passing game. Blaze doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and has the talent to play quarterback at the next level.

Dalton Gambrel Dalton Gambrel 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH Eminence | 2024 KY was on the receiving in of Berry’s impressive performance this past week. He finished the game with seven receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Gambrel is a dangerous deep threat on the outside where he is able to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He is also very impressive after the catch, showing the ability to break tackles and make defenders miss in the open field then using his speed to run away from the defense. Gambrel doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Kadin Hanshaw Kadin Hanshaw 5’11” | 170 lbs | RB Grayson County | 2027 State KY is a player that is off to a great start his high school career and continued to impress this past week. Hanshaw helped lead his team to a win over Butler County, running the ball 29 times for 219 yards and four touchdowns. Kadin has impressive vision, showing the ability to find the open running lane and hit it in a hurry. He has also proven to be a very strong runner, showing the contact balance to break tackles in the open field without losing stride. Hanshaw doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on over the next four years as he continues to develop.
Clark Rexroat
Clark Rexroat
Another ball carrier that stood out to me this past week was Clark Rexroat. He was very impressive in his team’s win over Elizabethtown, finishing with 12 carries for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Rexroat has very impressive speed which he uses to get to the outside and up the field in a hurry to simply run away from the defense. He also has impressive vision, showing the ability to find cut back lanes in the open field. Clark also showed some ability as a receiving threat out of the backfield, finishing the game with one reception for 28 yards. Rexroat currently holds an offer from Rose Hulman and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level and has received a good amount of college interest.
Mykel Malone Mykel Malone 5’11” | 190 lbs | RB Fern Creek | 2024 State KY has gotten off to a strong start to his senior year, including a very impressive performance last week. Malone played a huge role in his team’s win over Jeffersonville (IN), running the ball 20 times for 210 yards and four touchdowns. Mykel is a physical, downhill runner and put that on display this past week, showing the ability to lower his shoulder and run through defenders without breaking stride. He also showed that he has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. Mykel doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Another running back that has continuously impressed me this season is Giaonni Hunter Giaonni Hunter 5’11” | 210 lbs | RB Shelby County | 2025 State KY . Hunter played a key role in his team’s win over Dunbar, running the ball 30 times for 216 yards and four touchdowns. He showed impressive speed which he used to burst through the running lane and run away from the defense on long runs. Once he hit the open field, Hunter also showed the ability to make defenders miss. He also finished the game with one reception for 18 yards. While he doesn’t currently hold any offers, Giaonni has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play at the next level.

Andrew McCutcheon Andrew McCutcheon 5’6″ | 145 lbs | RB Betsy Layne | 2025 State KY is a player that jumped onto my radar this past week. He helped lead his team to a win over Knott County Central, running the ball 21 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns. McCutcheon has impressive speed which he uses to get to the outside and up the field to run away from the defense. Once he hits the open field, McCutcheon has also shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss. Andrew doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on this season.
To wrap up my top offensive performers from Week 4, I have Justin Ruffin Jr Justin Ruffin Jr 5’9″ | 160 lbs | ATH Christian Academy of Louisville | 2024 State KY . Despite their close loss to Lexington Christian Academy, Ruffin was still very impressive, finishing the game with eight receptions for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Ruffin is a very dangerous deep threat, showing the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He is also very impressive after the catch, showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and the the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Ruffin also plays a key role on defense as a lockdown corner. Justin is committed to Army where I can see him developing into a very productive playmaker for them once he gets his opportunity.
