Pre-season Leaders in the Clubhouse – Class 6A
(QB) Aidan Glover Aidan Glover 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Collierville | 2024 State TN – Collierville
– The top ranked quarterback in the state by PRZTN, Glover is headed into his final year with the Dragons but is set for his best season yet after a strong off-season of work that allowed him to become a future SEC player with his commitment to Missouri. Now the West Tennessee signal caller is focused on the season ahead and leading his Collierville team on a possible state title run along with contending as a top candidate for Class 6A Mr. Football.
Glover has all the physical passing tools you like and want in your quarterback and he is still coming into his own, so his best days are certainly ahead of him. His Dragon team is viewed as a top team in the 6A ranks this Fall, sporting a squad worthy of going deep in the playoffs and a lot of that hinges on the play of Glover and his offense. The 6 ‘3 strong armed passer has solid pieces around him, including a top target in 2025 wideout Joakim Dodson Joakim Dodson 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Baylor | 2025 State TN along with a strong defense that should allow Glover plenty of chances to be on the field. As long as he stays healthy, Glover should definitely be in the mix for Mr. Football as well as the possibility of taking his team to Chattanooga by season’s end.
(QB) Cordero Walker Cordero Walker 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Germantown | 2024 State TN – Germantown
– The Red Devils offense was already expected to be explosive this year but that was ramped up even more last week when Walker made the official transfer over to Germantown to become their starting quarterback and it’s a move that could not only put this athletic signal caller in the mix for Mr. Football but also push his squad towards a Class 6A state title. That’s big expectations but Walker is seasoned and talented along with a great mindset as a leader, which might be the missing recipe for the Germantown offense and the difference between ending the season early or making it all the way to Chattanooga.
Walker brings an athletic skill set to the Red Devils backfield as a true dual threat that can definitely beat you with his legs and speed but has also developed further his passing this off-season to become dangerous through the air as well. He has strong skill players to work with as well, so I could easily see Walker put up some big numbers this year and by the end of the regular season, look up and see himself as a finalist for Mr. Football.
(QB/DB) Kaleb Martin Kaleb Martin 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Rhea Co. | 2024 State TN – Bradley Central
– Already viewed as one of the top defensive back prospects from the East Tennessee region, Martin will also handle quarterback duties this Fall for his Bradley Central team, which makes this future Miami Ohio RedHawk a prime candidate to contend for Mr. Football. This 6 ‘2 athletic playmaker will surprise some with his ability to throw the ball but it will be his dynamic running and speed that will make a difference for the Bears offense as well as place Martin in contention for individual top honors.
The Bears senior product will have the ball in his hands a lot this Fall but his future on the collegiate gridiron will be at defensive back, where I think the RedHawks are gaining a steal! His play on the defensive backend for Bradley will be key this Fall in the Bears having a stout defense but his ability to handle quarterback duties with efficiency and production will be critical in the team’s success. If Martin does his job on both sides of the ball and the Bears are winning, Mr. Football will certainly be in consideration for this talented two-way prospect.
(RB) Damon Sisa Damon Sisa 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Houston | 2024 State TN – Houston
– Sisa is one of the most electrifying playmakers from our #TN2024 class and while he still remains un-committed, the Mustangs senior back has a great opportunity to boost his stock further with another stellar season that could land him on the list of finalists for Class 6A Mr. Football. While this athletic running back will receive help from his offensive counterparts, Sisa is Mr. Everything for his offense and his Mustangs team as a whole. As he goes, the team goes and if Sisa is causing fits for opposing defenses yet again this year, individual and team success will arrive.
We all expect this Memphis area running back to put up big yards on the ground but if Sisa can increase his receiving production, his campaign for Mr. Football will be enhanced. He might also provide some big plays in the return game as well, so Sisa should have plenty of opportunities to shine. Winning Mr. Football this year will be tough as the 6A ranks has several high quality contenders but Sisa is at the top of list for top honors, especially if Houston remains in the mix for a region title.
(RB) Ashton Jones Ashton Jones 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Oakland | 2024 State TN – Oakland
– The current top ranked running back by PRZTN, Jones is headed into his first year with the Oakland Patriots and his last go around of high school ball this year but could head into college as a possible Mr. Football winner, especially if he remains healthy throughout the duration of the season. Making the decision to head over to Oakland from DCA for his senior year was a calculated move for Jones to be showcased on the highest level of HS ball here in Tennessee and contend for not only Mr. Football but chase after that “Gold Ball” as well.
Jones will be sharing the backfield with two stud juniors this Fall but he should be the lead guy and that’s due to his balance, speed and strength along with his strong work ethic. The Patriots runner is a talented ball carrier that is yes coming off an injury that he rehabbed all off-season but all signs are pointing to Jones being back to full health and ready for his final year in high school. He would much rather end his career with a state championship but contending for Mr. Football would be a nice consolation prize too.
(RB) Omarian Mills Omarian Mills 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Jefferson Co. | 2024 State TN – Jefferson Co.
– Mills returns for his senior season as one of the top productive running backs not just from the East Tennessee region but the entire state and with a recent quarterback subtraction, the Patriots star should be taking on a bigger role, meaning he will have plenty of opportunities to run the ball and place himself squarely in the mix for Mr. Football. Mills is a workhorse and while he will share carries with a rising junior, the PRZTN Top 150 prospect has the durability and desire to put up another productive season and help lead his team on a possible deep playoff run.
Winning a region title and competing for a state championship is the ultimate goal for Mills and his Patriots team but coming away with Mr. Football honors would be an excellent consolation prize. We recently predicted Jefferson Co. to win their region, so the Patriots and Mills should be in the mix by the end of the regular season for high postseason honors as well as strong placement for the playoffs. All that can happen if the entire team comes together while Mills remains healthy and if that’s the case, this senior back should have Mr. Football within reach of obtaining.
(RB) Gage LaDue Gage LaDue 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Maryville | 2024 State TN – Maryville
– If anybody within this list could be considered the “sleeper’ for Class 6A Mr. Football honors, it might be this Rebels running back. LaDue takes over the lead role in the backfield for his senior season with low tread on his tires but the talent to breakout this year and earn 6A top individual honors. The future Air Force Falcon is a big dude who runs well, showing good open field speed along with the upside to catch passes out of the backfield. His talents should be on full display this Fall as the Rebels transition into a younger team, expecting guys like LaDue to take on heavy roles and produce.
A big reason for the addition of LaDue to this list is from the fact that Maryville doesn’t appear to have too many offensive weapons this season, meaning this 6 ‘1 running back will have to produce at a high level for the Rebels to pursue another region title. If LaDue puts up a big year on the ground, pushes his team to another region title while leading the Rebels back into the playoffs, his consideration for Mr. Football should be relatively high.
(Ath) Boo Carter Boo Carter 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Bradley Central | 2024 State TN – Bradley Central
– The top ranked overall prospect by Prep Redzone Tennessee, Carter made the move over to Bradley Central this season, giving him a chance to compete on the highest level of HS ball here in the Volunteer State and if he stays healthy and performs at the level he can, the Bears senior playmaker could make his way onto the finalist list for Mr. Football. His involvement for top individual honors won’t come by way just on offense as Carter is expected to perform in the Bears secondary as well, so the state’s top ranked prospect will have plenty of opportunities to shine and make it to Nashville for the award ceremonies.
The future Tennessee Volunteer, Carter has every tool within his bag to be the best player on the field against any team Bradley competes against this season but he must live up to high expectations and produce for not only his sake with the Mr. Football conversation but also for the Bears to make a deep run after a state title. If the Bears shine bright during the regular season and Carter is a big reason why, look for him to land in the mix for Mr. Football and even possibly become a finalist.
