The 6A classification is packed with some of the best teams in Utah, and they all started the season 1-0. These rankings were constructed based on week one results and roster talent

Corner Canyon Chargers

The Chargers decimated Granger 55-7 in a sensational season-opening performance. Issac Wilson threw for over 460 yards and accounted for five touchdowns. The receiver tandem of [player_tooltip player_id='698238' first='Jerome' last='Myles'] and [player_tooltip player_id='572405' first='Tate' last='Kjar'] combined for nearly 300 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='406966' first='Bo' last='Tate'] led the defense in tackles in his first game with the Chargers. Corner Canyon is capable of having an undefeated season in 2023.

2. Skyridge Falcons

The Falcons had the most impressive week one win as they defeated last year's 5A state runner-up, the Timpview Thunderbirds. Skyridge trialed going into the half, but the run game led by Carter Sheffield and Skyridge's exceptional offensive line helped them dominate the time of possession and eventually win the game. The Falcons elite defense allowed no touchdowns in the second half, and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='698237' first='Deshawn' last='Toilolo'] locked in the win with a late interception. The Falcons are more than capable of repeating this year.

3. American Fork Caveman

The Cavemen made the trip out to Roy and throttled the Royals. Jacob Eardley was unstoppable on offense, while defensive linemen Walki Fulilangi and the rest of the American Fork defense held the Roy offense in check for most of the game. The Cavemen are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and could make a deep postseason run.

4. Syracuse Titans

The Titans shut out Riverton in an impressive 38-0 win. The offensive trio of quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='532703' first='Jake' last='Hopkins'], receivers Shaun Blanton and [player_tooltip player_id='591213' first='DJ' last='Mayes'] all had big games. Mayes also made plays on defense, with 11 tackles a sack. Syracuse should be considered the favorite to win Region one and potentially much more.

5. Lone Peak Knights

The Knights notched the first win of the 2023 high school football season when they bested Bingham 27-7. Quarterback Jackson Blake and the offense were electric, while the defense, led by [player_tooltip player_id='905088' first='Bott' last='Mulitalo'] made some huge plays. Lone Peak has officially entered contender status with their impressive week one win.

6. Lehi Pioneers

The Pioneers picked up a big week one win by beating Davis 28-14. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='402743' first='Devaughn' last='Eka'] rushed for over 160 yards and two touchdowns, while Alema Tamala and Penisimani Takitak both had 1.5 sacks. Lehi won their first game as a 6A school and could win much more once the calendar turns to April.

7. Mountain Ridge Sentinels

The Sentinels were sharp in their 37-20 win over Fremont. Mountain Ridge Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='402749' first='Kai' last='Meza'] had over 180 yards and three touchdowns, while linebacker Tanner Dejong had 13 tackles and two interceptions. The Sentinels are capable of doing big things in their program's fifth year.

8. Pleasant Grove Vikings

The Vikings shocked the state with a shoutout victory on the road at Farmington. Pleasant Grove quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='698541' first='Carson' last='Rasmussen'] threw for and rushed for touchdown in the big season-opening win. The Vikings play in one of the state's toughest regions but they will be up for the challenge.

9. Herriman Mustangs

The Mustangs made things happen in their 35-23 win over Bountiful. Quarterback Frederick Ta'ai threw for nearly 300 yards and tossed five touchdowns passes, while linebacker Linkin Wilberge led an impressive defensive performance. Herriman looks poised to surprise people in 2023 after their strong week one showing.

10. Westlake Thunder

The Thunder were able to narrowly beat Weber 22-21 in overtime. Quarterback Derek Anderson and running back Landon Rasmussen both ran in scores to help Westlake start the year 1-0. It was Anderson's first touchdown pass of the season that helped Westlake seal the deal.
