Rocky Mountain 16 - Coeur D'alene 0

Rocky Mountain ran away from the game thanks to a superb defensive effort led by the do it all junior [player_tooltip player_id='484675' first='Isaiah' last='Reed'] who led the way with 3 sacks and 14 tackles. Rocky has really been able to really crank up the pressure against opposing offenses with their ability to turn the football over. Brody Swearheart has been the leader in that category after intercepting passes in both of Rocky's first two games. On the offensive side of the ball its been all [player_tooltip player_id='336951' first='Jaryn' last='Ikebe'] that leads the way with 25 catches in two games and is one of the focal points for Rocky as they move forward during this season. The Vikings fall to 1-1 on the season but who's to say that the emotional victory last week didn't play into the Vikings preparation this week as they werent able to get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='484982' first='Jamison' last='Kizziar'] still led his team for the majority of the game before going out and with a defense that features [player_tooltip player_id='336952' first='Shea' last='Robertson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='336934' first='Camden' last='DeGraw'] the Vikings will right the ship quickly.

Mountain View 31 - Meridian 26

Justin Mcgee and [player_tooltip player_id='336941' first='Grayson' last='Flatten'] led the way for the Mavericks in their win over the visiting Warriors of Meridian. McGee was able to rush for over 100+ yards and throw for over 100+ yards in the game in true dual threat fashion while Flatten returned from a season ending injury to have two receiving touchdowns. The defense of Mountain View was able to largely contain the two headed monster from Meridian but did give up some yards through the air where [player_tooltip player_id='484672' first='Zeke' last='Martinez'] was able to throw for 250+ yards on the night. Meridian is now 0-2 to start their season but there is talent everywhere and it wont take them long to come together as they are a young team that is still trying to work out some of the bugs. A heavy weight game that had back and forth scoring, big defensive stops, and some costly turnovers in what was considered by many as the game of the week.

Bishop Kelly 49 - Capital 14

[player_tooltip player_id='353364' first='Ben' last='Avella'] lead the Knights to a win over their 5A foe from across town with a stellar performance throwing for 209 yards and 4 touchdowns on the night. [player_tooltip player_id='540122' first='Peter' last='Minnaert'] did his thing racking up 235 all purpose yards to make a statement that he may be one of the best players in the state regardless of class. The Knights led by Chris Culig the long time Rocky coach led the entire game and were able to make their mark and put the rest of 4A on notice that they can play with the biggest teams in the state and compete. Capital now drops to 0-2 on the season with two tough loses in back to back weeks. Yet the Capital tradition is still strong and it will not be shocking to see them make some adjustments and right the train especially with players like [player_tooltip player_id='412900' first='Victor' last='Byaundaombe'] who had a 72 yard kick return in the game.

Borah 42 - Timberline 20

Remember the name or get familiar with hearing [player_tooltip player_id='1135306' first='Jevon' last='Nelson'] as the senior who came back from major injury has racked up over 300 all purpose yards in two games for the Lions. All Borah has done is show that they are a different team than last year with a hard hitting defense led by senior Boise State commit Trevor Mckenna and a talent offense that can really score in a hurry. Borah might be a team that shocks many as they have not been picked as highly as their current play is showing the could be a dark horse in the 5A SIC River Division race. Timberline starts the season off 0-2 but there are bright spots all over the field in the form of sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='861723' first='Hudson' last='Lewis'], who scored on a 95-yard kickoff return. Along with Lucas Midgett and Aidon Nixon the Wolves are putting up points but will look to have a little more success on defense in the next few weeks.

Kuna 34 - Skyview 14

All Kuna did was show why they are considered one of the top rushing teams in 5A this season with over 250+ yards on the ground against Skyview. It helps when you have stars like Austin Lattimer and [player_tooltip player_id='412916' first='Luke' last='Selto'] who both rushed for over 100 yards in the game. Kuna also has a top team defense that make plays all over the field not just with individual but as a group that constantly flies to the ball to make plays. Skyview racked up big yardage against Kuna but was not able to convert those yards into score giving up two score drives due to turnover. Skyview is still a team to be reckoned with in the 4A ranks and will be on our teams to watch list this season as they still play one of the toughest schedules in the entire 4A.
