Switching over the South Dakota for the potential breakout prospects. This list was a lot fun to cover because of the content in film I watched. Trying to find a good athlete in each position group was fairly simple. The tough part was picking only one per position group. There is a lot of exciting talent to watch in the 2023 season!

[player_tooltip player_id='89279' first='Luke' last='Fraser'], Hamlin (ATH), Highlights, Offers: Northern State

Fraser has been a kid we've been following here for a couple years. First emerging on the radar getting snaps as a Freshman and playing in the State Championship game. Over the last two seasons, he has progressed nicely as an athlete being a do-it-all kind of kid. Put him at any position and he makes a play. Showcasing his speed, agility and muscle while carrying the ball, also showing his vision to find open field. Flashes his route running and catching ability out of the backfield and out wide.

[player_tooltip player_id='289644' first='Maverick' last='Jones'], O'Gorman (RB), Highlights, Offers: N/A

Jones is an all business type RB. A game mentality so simple that makes it extremely respectable. Once he gets the handoff, he follows and reads his blocks quickly each play. When the gap opens up, he explodes through it and really creates a big play. His business type of style making one cut and accelerating to top speed quickly. Lastly, his vision works well in the tight spaces to find the opening and reacting to it just as fast.

[player_tooltip player_id='447235' first='Easton' last='Poppe'], Brandon Valley (OL), Highlights, Offers: University of Jamestown & Winona State

Poppe has a lot of raw talent in his game at Offensive Tackle. Showing his muscle and footwork on the perimeter to open run gaps. He keeps a good pad level and great drive blocking when he down blocks and really washes the defense out. Keeping a good base and position on hard rushers off the edge. Capping it all off with good hand technique to keep his QB upright and not get flagged.

[player_tooltip player_id='326820' first='Jameson' last='Nebel'], Hamlin (DL), Highlights, Offer: N/A

Nebel has hit the Prep Redzone circuit hard over the last year. Every time I see him perform, he always does something impressive. At our showcase in Aberdeen last winter, he did a great job in one-on-one competitions and really stood out against all different kinds of competitors. On tape, his performance is even better because he doesn't have to hold back! Lightning quick off the ball and extremely physical with blockers and ballcarriers to get the job done.

[player_tooltip player_id='174200' first='Trae' last='Piel'], Dakota Valley (WR), Highlights, Offers: MSU & SD School of Mines

Piel has been a kid we've payed close attention to. Mainly because he puts up good numbers each week. At his position on a run heavy offense, to put up numbers of this magnitude is impressive. Speed is the name of the game for him, he is really smooth in his running form that he passes you up before you realize it. Another big part if his game is his concentration and hands when the pass is flying his way. Lastly, he is not shy with the ball, running over any defender in his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='294166' first='Kade' last='Van Egdom'], Sioux Falls Christian (LB), Highlights, Offers: N/A

Van Egdom is the ultimate edge sealer on the defensive side of the ball. His physicality and awareness off the edge gives him a good advantage on each play. Playing on the edge, he holds contain and holds position, not flying up field and making the play. Along with that, he has good pad position to maintain his positioning and still carry through to make a good form tackle. Lastly, he has the speed to turn and run with the backs out of the backfield on routes and keep them in check.

[player_tooltip player_id='675273' first='Jaxson' last='Wolbrink'], Harrisburg (DB), Highlights, Offers: N/A

Wolbrink has a solid style playing back in the secondary. I really like how he keeps his positioning on receivers running routes when he is both man and zone coverage. His closing speed on the receiver when the ball is in the air. Whats more impressive is his timing to make a play on the receiver without drawing a flag. His big time, playmaking factor on defense is his tackling ability. Especially in the open field, he does a good job tracking, breaking down and wrapping up the ballcarrier.

[player_tooltip player_id='237981' first='Jackson' last='Brouwer'], Roosevelt (QB), Highlights, Offers: N/A

I see Brouwer has a huge breakout player in his Senior Season. He has all the mechanics to be a good passer, with a year of experience, the confidence will carry on in a huge way. A good throwing motion and accuracy all over the route tree. Adding in a good shoulder level and following through to put the ball in a good spot for the receiver to make the play. The best thing about his game, is that it all stays the same on the run and he still makes a good play.

[player_tooltip player_id='533112' first='Carson' last='Griffith'], Elkton- Lake Benton (TE), Highlights ,Offers: N/A

Griffith went out and made a name for himself as a Junior. His height and levers gave him a distinct advantage over the defender. Getting open for him looked super simple. A quick release off the snap and accelerating quickly got him past the defense in a hurry. His frame made him an easy target for the QB to find and his hands made him a reliable target to throw at. Lastly, his balance and strength helped him rip off some big gains consistently.
