<p>16 Southern California programs will gather at Ocean View High in Huntington Beach to compete in one of the last weekends of passing league tournaments this summer.</p>

<p>Some of the teams have been active on the passing league circuit this summer and some have not gotten a lot of publicity.</p>

<p>Here is a look at the teams competing in the Ocean View tournament on Saturday, July 15.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>POOL A</strong></h2>

<p><strong>OCEAN VIEW</strong></p>

<p>Ocean View has a new head coach in <strong>Daniel Hernandez</strong> who was an offensive coordinator at St. Paul most recently. The Seahawks are led by senior quarterback <strong>Frankie Armenta</strong> who is entering his third year as the team's starter. He completed 56 percent of his passes for 106 yards per game with six touchdowns. Sophomore <strong>Chris Vincent</strong> is a 6-foot-2 WR/DB combo who is a basketball player. He did not play football last season but has had a good spring and summer according to Hernandez.</p>

<p><strong>LA SERNA</strong></p>

<p>La Serna is a team with a question mark at quarterback after the graduation of <strong>Jake Long</strong>. The big star returner is running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='684239' first='Owen' last='Long'], who has multiple offers including Air Force, Idaho and Washington State. <strong>Elijah Blu Flores II</strong> is an intriguing junior running back who got some playing time last season. </p>

<p><strong>LOS AMIGOS</strong></p>

<p>The Lobos had a great season last year and earned a second place finish in the Garden Grove League. <strong>Maysen Navarro</strong> is back at quarterback for Los Amigos after throwing eight touchdown passes and just one interception in 2022. He was also the team's leading rusher last season with 97 yards per game with 10 touchdowns. <strong>Adrian Ramirez</strong> and <strong>Erubey Bermudez</strong> are two junior receivers to watch. Ramirez also had three interceptions on defense along with <strong>Justin Vasquez</strong>. <strong>Jesse Bravo</strong> got some significant playing time as a freshman and is back for Los Amigos.</p>

<p><strong>LANCASTER</strong></p>

<p>Lancaster won a lower-level CIF championship last season and has some intriguing skill players returning. The Eagles are a running team and have 1700 yards and 16 touchdowns returning in <strong>Ashton Mitchell</strong> and <strong>Shakir Freeman.</strong> <strong>Chowlyn</strong> <strong>Hughes</strong> had over 900 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns last season and is back. <strong>Zyler Lane</strong> is another guy to keep an eye on offensively. <strong>Devin Valera</strong> is a returning playmaker on defense.</p>

<p><strong>ST. MARGARET'S</strong></p>

<p>St. Margaret's has a new coach in <strong>Dan O'Shea</strong> formerly of Corona del Mar. [player_tooltip player_id='595809' first='Max' last='Ruff'] is the talented quarterback for the Tartans and he has a couple of quality targets in <strong>Russell Frye</strong> and <strong>Maverick Young. </strong>Frye is a 6-foot-3 basketball player with a football offer from Carnegie-Mellon. [player_tooltip player_id='201417' first='Battle' last='Gideons'] is a talented senior linebacker who has been getting some offers lately and <strong>Sebastian Salazar </strong>is a sophomore to keep an eye on.</p>

<p><strong>SAN PEDRO</strong></p>

<p>San Pedro is one of the top teams in the LA City Section and had an undefeated regular season last year. They had two quarterbacks splitting time at the end of the season last year and both are back: <strong>Marcus Jeronymo</strong> and <strong>Santiago Rivera</strong>. <strong>Dylan Rubino</strong> and <strong>Petero Eneliko</strong> are two junior skill players returning on offense. <strong>Luka Mardesich</strong> and <strong>Edgar Lomeli</strong> are two seniors who combined for seven interceptions last season. </p>

<p><strong>BUENA PARK</strong></p>

<p>Buena Park struggled last season but won three more games than it won in 2021. <strong>Alex Delgado</strong> took the majority of reps at quarterback late in the season and was a junior last season. <strong>Danny Washington</strong> is a senior to watch on both sides of the ball. The major addition for Buena Park is transfer <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1128151' first='Jaden' last='Moore']</strong> from Orange. He earned All-Tournament honors at the Baldwin Park Showcase recently and has an offer from Northern Arizona.</p>

<p><strong>BASSETT</strong></p>

<p>Bassett challenged itself with a very tough nonleague schedule and it paid off with the team earning a playoff berth. <strong>Jonny Guerrero</strong> is the receiver to keep an eye on for Bassett, but most of the team's skill players graduated last year.</p>
