We're up in Fort Wayne today looking at 4 talented recruits who could be on the verge of something special this fall. Summit City as they call it, is loaded with talent, and these 4 are no different.

Williams is one of the more dynamic players in the entire city, who happens to be the one slinging the rock. He's got a decent arm and nice touch. Much better touch at times than you'd anticipate. While his consistency in the throwing game is still developing, that level of promise is such a sight for sore eyes. Add in the fact that he's a threat to house it with his legs on any down, and you see why he's getting some of the looks he deserves. He's got really nice ball placement over the shoulder when going downfield. He doesn't seem to be arrogant with the ball and try making throws he shouldn't. Last year he completed 58% of his throws while throwing for 19 TDs. He then added 400 rushing yards and 3 TDs on the ground. Decent through the air, efficient on the ground, and confident in his ability on the field is what sets him above others. Williams could come out and take the conference by storm and really begin to set himself apart from the pack if he continues to show his development this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='916125' first='Carter' last='Minix'] - Bishop Dwenger - WR - 5'8" 180lbs - 2024

Minix is coming into a year where he's going to be asked to do more, which is almost crazy to ask of a guy when he helped you in 4 phases of the game the year before, but that's the value Minix has brought to Bishop Dwenger. Last season, he carried the ball 39 times. Caught 22 passes. Was their main returner on the year and put up 505 return yards. He then added 21 tackles, 5 batted-down balls, and a forced fumble on defense. He seemingly never came off the field, but it's because they need him. He's a good athlete with great speed, which is why he can play DB and return kicks along with being moved around on offense. He's creative with the ball in his hands and has some good agility to make a few guys miss. He's also just a smart player. My favorite moment of his year last year was a punt that bounced short and everyone was afraid to touch. It bounced just right and Minix caught it as he began to accelerate. 62 yards later, he was in the endzone. With multiple return TDs on the year, he began to make teams think differently about how they were approaching him. Minix is the type of recruit who typically goes unnoticed until he's lighting it up on a Saturday somewhere and schools are wondering "Where did he come from and why didn't we recruit him?" Well, Bishop Dwenger will be the answer to the first part of that Trivia question.

[player_tooltip player_id='916126' first='Rashawn' last='Carpenter'] - Northside - ATH - 5'10" 150lbs - 2024

Carpenter is a fantastic athlete with incredible range. He seemingly teleports all over the field and does a great job diagnosing plays. When he's coming downhill, he uses that speed to accelerate and deliver some quality big hits. While he's a bit light right now, as he develops in the weight room, that'll only make him a harder hitter and be able to withstand bigger collisions. Carpenter has very natural and easy-going footwork. It's not choppy and he can flip his hips and change directions with the best of them. I think in terms of mechanics in the backend, he may be a bit raw, but that only gives him that much more of a better ceiling. He does everything without strain and seems to pick up on things and tendencies as the game goes on. Not to mention, he's also got potential at WR. That athleticism translates right over to that side of the ball and he's as dynamic as anyone with the ball in his hands. He's got a more lengthy frame which gives him a boost offensively. On either side of the ball, I feel Carpenter has some untapped potential just waiting to be unleashed.

[player_tooltip player_id='916133' first='Harold' last='Mack'] - Wayne - WR - 6'0" 160lbs - 2025

Mack is one of the quickest-rising 2025 recruits, and for good reason. He's an incredibly dynamic WR who has speed that nobody has been able to catch yet. He's also incredibly smart for his age. He's adjusting to the zone and finding soft spots already. He was doing that last year, more specifically. Whether he's on the outside or in the slot, he's able to make the play. On the outside, he's got that deep-threat speed and is able to run under the ball. In the slot, he'll get open, flip his hips, and turn on the afterburners. Once he gets the ball in his hands, he hits another gear that very few players will ever have. Last season saw him begin to breakout where he put up 33 receptions, 468 yards, and 6 TDs. However, it's not about numbers or production. While that all certainly helps, it's traits and abilities people are looking for at the next level. Mack has some very rare traits that make him potentially special. He's already begun to get some D1 looks and it won't be long until everyone jumps aboard his hype train, which leaves the station on August 18th at about 7 PM.
