Nolan stands at a towering 6’6 and weighs in at 255. The Iowa commit showcases great athleticism, especially for his height. His ability to climb to the second level, make key blocks on the edge, and protect his quarterback’s blindside are all the traits that make the Arlington Heights product one of the top offensive linemen in the state. One of his more underrated attributes is his technique. Nolan’s hand placement, punch, and footwork are next level. As he adds weight heading into his senior year, Nolan will compete to be the number one offensive tackle in the state of Illinois before heading off to Iowa City to play for the Hawkeyes.
Another Hersey product coming in at number 2 in our MSL East rankings, Grove is a true 2 way player who is equally impressive on both sides of the ball. As a football player, his athleticism and ability to get in and out of breaks at safety and wide receiver are next level… not to mention he is one of the best kick and punt returners in the state. Grove has break away speed and an elusiveness in the open field that makes him a threat every time he touches the ball. At wide receiver, he is a smooth route runner, vertical threat, and willing blocker. Be on the lookout for Grove next fall as he should light it up at several positions on the field.
Catanzano stands at 6’1 and weighs 225. The middle backer from Prospect possesses the size and quickness that allows him to dominate opponents. Catanzano is extremely instinctual. He diagnoses run plays and screens quickly and flows to the ball with ease. Once he gets to the ball Catanzano delivers a strong tackle that drives the ball carrier backwards. His physicality is impressive, as Catanzano’s junior film is littered with big hits. He is a true run stuffing Mike linebacker, with the lateral quickness and downhill speed to stop an opposing offense’s running game.
Highlights
Ben Petermann
Ben Petermann
The 6’3 Rolling Meadows wide receiver possesses a variety of traits that led to his breakout Junior season. Petermann posted 15 touchdowns and found himself just shy of 1,000 receiver yards last year. He has solid speed and a quick release off the line of scrimmage that makes him difficult to press. Even on plays when Petermann found himself in tight coverage, his ability to adjust to the ball and make contested catches are off the charts. Petermann is both a vertical and a goal line threat, as he can go up and get fade balls in the end zone as well as separate from defensive backs down the field.
Palano measures in at 6’1, 205 and plays outside linebacker. In his Junior season, the Buffalo Grove product posted nearly 100 tackles playing on the edge. Palano uses his quickness and athleticism to shut down opposing runs his way. He can stick his foot in the ground and redirect in a variety of ways to get pressure on the quarterback and get tackles for loss. He has a nice bend and uses his hands well when faced with a one-one-one’s against an offensive tackle. He also showcases some impressive plays on offense at both wide receive and running back. Palano is poised for a big senior year, as he has the frame, quickness, speed, and physicality that coaches look for in recruiting.
