emerged as a dominant force in the linebacker position, earning a reputation for his hard-hitting style. As a Senior, he not only solidified his status as one of the state’s hardest-hitting players but also concluded an impressive high school career. Currently holding offers from both Division I and Division II schools, Catanzano is carefully weighing his options to determine his best fit. The team that successfully secures Catanzano’s commitment can anticipate adding a tenacious and hard-nosed linebacker to their roster, undoubtedly bolstering their defensive capabilities.

Catanzano is a big time hitter. He get down hill in the run fit and loves to stick the ball carrier. He showed up big against Lyons shutting down their run game. His ability to run sideline to sideline is what is most impressive when you turn on his film. Catanzano has already picked up multiple offers with more to come as his senior year is off to an impressive start.

is next up on PRzIL’s list of hardest hitters in the 2024 class, and with his weight room prowess, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that he got the nod for this heavyweight feature. Catanzano squats an impressive 605 lbs., benches 355, and power cleans 300 pounds for some eye-catching numbers going into his senior year, and Catanzano for sure knows how to put them to good use on the gridiron. The size and strength combine to make him a candidate to play early in college compared to his peers, which also equates to physical dominance at the high school level, particularly into contact. The off-ball LB does a great job of driving his feet through contact, and when he gets to the contact point initially you can see it freeze and shock ball carriers who were not expecting to get hit by a SUV on their routine run or catch. He rag dolls opponents when he gets his paws on them as well, and can and will toss them backward and aside five+ yards in powerful fashion that leaves the helpless RB, QB, or WR wondering why they feel so small and feeble. Especially if he gets a clean shot on you head-on and squared up, you’re going to be knocked backward like you ran into a wall, and you can see opponents curl up and brace themselves if they see #52 bearing down on them. Additionally, Catanzano does a good job of reading his keys, staying patient, and then triggering on the ball to destroy plays before they fully develop, closes with pace, is comfortable tackling in space, and can adjust and change his pursuit path to the ball carrier, and can shed blocks and continue upfield quickly. Culver Stockton and Valpo are his lone offers right now, but he’s got a ton of MAC and Mountain West interest who I’m sure are keeping a close eye on him and his future senior tape. Going to be a big fall for #52!

The 6’1″ 230 lbs LB has impressive tape. It seems like he is playing faster than the rest of the field because his instincts are so strong. He quickly reads plays and attacks with strong acceleration and closing speed. Catanzano also brings sideline to sideline range and the motor to chase down plays all over the field. Grady also makes highlight plays as a blitzer and with delayed blitzes. He uses good timing and picks his spots well. Grady currently holds an offer from Valpo football. Don’t let him slip under the radar any further.

Catanzano stands at 6’1 and weighs 225. The middle backer from Prospect possesses the size and quickness that allows him to dominate opponents. Catanzano is extremely instinctual. He diagnoses run plays and screens quickly and flows to the ball with ease. Once he gets to the ball Catanzano delivers a strong tackle that drives the ball carrier backwards. His physicality is impressive, as Catanzano’s junior film is littered with big hits. He is a true run stuffing Mike linebacker, with the lateral quickness and downhill speed to stop an opposing offense’s running game.

Mr. Catanzano is a man on a mission so far this season working as a Mike backer. There’s no doubt that his spot in the rankings is going to rise after a result of this fall season, look at his film below and you’ll see why. What stands out the most is how quickly he can close on the ball carrier in both run support and in pass coverage. Whether you run inside the tackle or outside the tackle, this young man is going to bolt to the hole and make a play on the ball carrier. Another area that this young man is stellar at is timing his blitz, there are multiple clips in his midseason highlights where he’s able to get into the backfield right at the snap and blow up the play in the backfield delivering a heavy hit on the quarterback. Overall, this young man can get to his pass coverage drops to make a play on the ball and can make his impact felt in run support. There’s not much more you can ask out of this young man to do as currently, he’s doing it all on the defensive side of the ball. He has interest across various levels but I expect his first offer to come once this season is over if he continues his production. He’s making a strong case for why he’s one of the top LBs in the Class of 24′ with his production so far. Keep a very close eye on this young man. Twitter
