Continue ReadingProspect (1-0) travels to take on Barrington (1-0) in week 2. Last week Prospect had an impressive win over a good Lyons Township team 24-10. Barrington also started the season off with an upset win over Warren. So this match up should be one to keep an eye on. Two very talented teams coming off big win. There will be a lot of talent on the field and I expect a rocking atmosphere.
These are the players to keep an eye on this Friday:
Noah Easter
Noah Easter
Easter’s performance in week 1 helped prospect seal a win over Lyons. Easter ended the night with 80 yards and a touchdown. His second half performance was enough to put the game out of reach. He is running back that runs with low pads and has good balance. He fits perfectly in prospects inside zone run scheme. Look for the Knights to lean on Easter and the run game in week 2.
Crash Davis
Crash Davis
The one word I would use to describe Crash Davis is relentless. He is all over the field making plays. He has great burst with the ability to bend an edge on a pass rush. His ability to be in on almost every play is a testament to his high effort. He is a player that play multiple positions across the front 7. I can’t wait to see more of Davis, he is fun to watch.
Catanzano is a big time hitter. He get down hill in the run fit and loves to stick the ball carrier. He showed up big against Lyons shutting down their run game. His ability to run sideline to sideline is what is most impressive when you turn on his film. Catanzano has already picked up multiple offers with more to come as his senior year is off to an impressive start.
Highlights
Matt Marusich Matt Marusich 6’2″ | 185 lbs | DB Barrington | 2024 State IL had a monster game against Warren last week. 5 catches for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns are some wild stats. Marusich can truly take over a game with his talent and he did. Prospect has to prepare for his big play ability when they take on the Broncos. Marusich committed earlier this month to Minnesota Duluth (D2)
Highlights
Nick Peipert Nick Peipert 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Barrington | 2025 IL debut last Friday was a successful one. Peipert looked poised in his start throwing for 258 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. He has a quick release and great touch on his long balls. I look for him to build of his success in week 1 and keep this momentum going for the Broncos.
Hudson Matiyow Hudson Matiyow 6’1″ | 190 lbs | DB Barrington | 2025 IL has great closing speed at the linebacker position. He did a great job last week tracking down ball carries and making big hits. I love his ability to cover ground and finish plays. He ended up with 8.5 tackles and forced fumble last Friday night. No doubt he will be flying around for Barrington’s defense this week as well.
