All he did was get open, time and after time after time. Landon has twitchy athleticism. At 6’3 200 pounds he has exceptional size for a freshman TE. He is a smooth athlete who has twitchy movement skills that allow him to naturally create separation. When he gets off the line he attacks the defender. His aiming point for the defender is the middle of the breast plate in the middle of the shoulder pads. His aggressiveness and willingness to attack defenders and smaller defensive backs, really puts them on their heels and sets up his breaks. Sometimes he will run his route right through the defender and other times he’d wait to break at the last minute, leaving the defender in very vulnerable positions. It was really fun to watch, to be honest. Anymore, you see receivers mostly try to just use their speed to run past defenders or try and juke their guys to try and create separation. While all of that’s fine, and can work, I just like it when players play bully ball. The fact that this freshman already has that mentality, to go along the rest of the package, it’s very impressive. Playing at a school like Princeton who faces formidable competition of the GMC, will allow him to prove himself very early. I believe Landon is going to put himself on the D1 recruiting scene very soon.
2026 OL Joseph Ingram Joseph Ingram 6'4" | 240 lbs | OL West Carrollton | 2026 State OH (West Carrollton) 6’5 260- When I first saw Joseph, I had no idea that he was only going to be a sophomore this fall. He has a wide frame and comes in at a svelte 260 pounds with the room to add more good weight. In his 1v1’s you could see the athleticism and the food speed to do some really good things. Technically he is a work in progress. He hasn’t played a lot of high school ball and you can tell the speed can catch him a little off guard from time to time. Here’s the thing, he has the type of athleticism to make up for a wrong move, recover, and shut the defender down. It’s that window into his game that showed me he has some special traits. As he continues to learn the position and refine his technique he’s going to be able to execute at a high level. As he continues to add weight and strength that will be the time when he can take his game to a whole new level. Ingram is a young player that I will definitely be following in the future.
2024 RB Cameron Jewell Cameron Jewell 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Jonathan Alder | 2024 State OH (Jonathan Alder) 5’11 190- Jewell ran one of the faster 40 times at the Miami Of Ohio camp, putting down a 4.53. Cameron has really strong film. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t got D1 interests up to this point. As a runner he has a great burst out of the backfield. He has good vision and is an explosive one cut runner who’s a threat to take it the house on just about any play. In 1v1’s, Jewell, worked over opposing defenders in the passing game. Cameron has a nice release and is sudden in his route running. When in his route he uses hesitation and explosive cuts to lose defenders. If he’s able to make himself a little space, he has the aforementioned speed to open it up and leave his defender behind. Jewell is a dynamic play maker, it’s as simple as that. I what the future holds for him!
2025 OL Kuol Kuol Kuol Kuol 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Centerville | 2025 OH (Centerville) 6’5 250- I met Kuol for the first time a the Ohio State camp. He’s every bit of 6’5 and probably in the 240-250 range. Kuol is a smooth athletic with an attention for detail. When worked in 1v1’s, he showed a smooth and quick kick step, that was concise with very little unnecessary movement. With his long frame and arms he has a great reach that he can use to stall defenders. Where things really stand with Kuol is that it’s just about him continuing to add good weight and strength to his frame. Technique and athleticism aren’t going to be an issue. Kuol’s biggest issue at this point is that he doesn’t have any game film. So, at this point his biggest need is to get on the football field and start putting out some quality film for coaches to evaluate. If he’s able to put out good film the main other matter will be to continue to get stronger and to continue to add good weight. I have a feeling that Kuol is going to be a very sought after young man when the fall contact period opens on September 1st.
2025 RB Hunter Derr Hunter Derr 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Miamisburg | 2025 State OH (Miamisburg) 6’1 190- Derr is a junior to be. He got a good deal of playing time as an H-Back in the Vikings offense. As such, Hunter is used in many different ways. Derr is used as a runner, a receiver, and as a blocker. As a receiver he runs good routes and has the hands to catch the ball when it comes his way. He’s strong and can make contested catches. As a running back, he’s a bull of a back. He has a good burst, and is also a nice one cut runner. He’s a strong runner who plays with good contact balance. As he continues to develop physically and get stronger, he’s going to be a player that other teams shy away from making the tackles when gets into space. With the departure of Christian Davis whose was a huge part of Miamisburg’s offense over recent years. I would think that Derr’s usage in the offense should increase exponentially in 2023. I’m ready to see what he can do!
