Below the surface there are some receivers that could be do for breakout seasons.
Brady Ackerman
Brady Ackerman
Ackerman is more of a tight end than a receiver and he is already a two-year starter at Sonora.
He caught 25 passes for 342 yards with a pair of touchdowns last season. It’s tough to find recent film of Ackerman, but he’s a big guy who Sonora likes to give the ball to.
Hudson Campbell
Hudson Campbell
Campbell is a lengthy slot guy that Capo likes to run certain routes with. He is usually running the corner route on “smash” or running the out when the outside receiver runs a fade.
Sometimes he is the middle receiver in trips and runs drags over the middle. He is not an explosive speed guy, but he gets off the ball and is a skilled route runner. Campbell is not afraid of contact and will catch anything close to him. He also plays safety for the Cougars.
Max Kotiranta Max Kotiranta 5’11” | 175 lbs | ATH San Clemente | 2025 State CA has had one of the better offseasons of any receiver in Orange County. He was the receiver MVP at the Prep Redzone Showcase in April and looked good at San Clemente’s college showcase.
He changes directions smoothly and has a large catch radius. He’s added some size since last fall too.
Highlights
Ryan Luce
Ryan Luce
Luce is a really good athlete who also plays baseball at Trabuco Hills.
He was one of the top sophomore receivers in the Southern Section last season with 918 yards on 54 catches with seven touchdowns.
Trabuco does a good job moving him around to create mismatches. He can make plays after the catch and be a matchup problem for guys covering him in the slot. He’s speedy and good at double moves.
