We continue to recap the best athletes and performances that I saw while in attendance at the Minnesconsin Camp on the campus of UW River Falls. As I preached in the QB article, this camp was extremely well run. Athletes got athletic testing done quick, they got plenty of reps in during position and one on one battles, and there was plenty of coaches for everyone to talk to and learn from. In today’s recap I am going to break RBs into two categories. 2024 RBs and then 2025s and younger. It was a loaded group. We start with the top uncommitted RB in WI.
One of the must watch athletes coming into the camp was Franklin standout RB Terrance Shelton Jr Terrance Shelton Jr 6’1″ | 205 lbs | RB Franklin | 2024 State WI . The ’24 didn’t disappoint either. He checked in at 6′ 200 lbs, ran 4.60, broad jumped 9’2″, vertical jumped 33.3″, and had a blazing 7.07 L-Drill. I watched Terrance up close during the RB drills. The L-Drill time was well represented in the drill work. Shelton proved to have elite body control that allowed him to cut or juke laterally, and change directions while maintaining his balance and top speed. Shelton Jr. was so smooth going through drills. He also proved his three down versatility when they started catching passes. He showed off soft, natural hands and good body control along the sideline to catch passes and stay in-bounds. Shelton only further locked up his spot as a top prospect in the Class of 2024 here in WI.
Highlights
Tanner continued to do what he seems to have always done. Prove that he can help his team win in multiple different ways. Tanner has experience at RB, WR, and even some Wildcat QB. At the camp, Dalske was 5’11” 194 lbs, ran a 4.65, and had an athletic 7.00 L-Drill. That matches the tape. Dalske has the balance/body control to be able to play physical between the tackles. He is able to run effective routes that open up separation. His hands are reliable. It is all starting to be recognized too as he has recently earned offers from Platteville and Oshkosh. Plenty more are sure to follow. Especially when he takes the field again this fall.
This is not the first time that the Pepin/Alma RB has come into a camp and caught my eyes. Demetrius did it again with his elite testing numbers. He showed up at 6′ 180 lbs, jumped 9’5″ and 34.9″ in the broad and vertical, and tore up the L Drill and pro agility with times of 6.6 and 4.26 respectively. All numbers similar to his times back in May when he was first at UW River Falls and earned an offer. It was great to see these numbers re-verified because the tape shows an athlete who flies around the field and is able to dominate in tight quarters. Expect him to rise up the rankings and have a dominant senior season.

Colby HS may be small, but they have a knack for pumping out athletes that take over their offense on a yearly basis. This year it looks like it will be Ivan Haemer Ivan Haemer 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Colby | 2024 State WI ‘s year. He had a solid day showing off his talents at the Minnesconsin camp. Ivan was 6’ 180 lbs, broad jumped 9’5″, had a 36.8″ vertical, and a 4.56 pro agility time. This was another situation where the numbers do a great job of painting the picture of Ivan’s game. He is an explosive short area athlete. An RB who can accelerate out of his cuts with power to fight his way through the front seven. He is going to be a name to know this fall, and he is starting to prove it early this summer.
One of the top testers among the RBs at the Minnesconsin Camp was the Big Lake ’24. The 5’10.5″ 177 lbs RB dominated each test. He ran a blazing 4.50 40, broad jumped 9’5″, vertical jumped 34.6″, and really stood out with his agility with a 7.17 L- Drill and 4.2 pro agility time. This was a great opportunity for the soon to be senior after only getting to play Week 1 of his junior year where he broke his collarbone. Watching through his older highlights should get coaches excited. This kid has game changing speed and his acceleration makes it very hard for defenses to fill their gaps against him. Definitely a name to know this fall.

Another player who had his junior year cut short due to injuries is Beaver Dam’s standout RB Gabe Klatt Gabe Klatt 6’0″ | 205 lbs | ATH Beaver Dam | 2024 State WI . Klatt started his summer off on the right foot at the camp. Gabe sure looks the part of a back who can handle a large workload at 6′ 206 lbs. The bigger back also showed off his powerful lower body with a 9’3″ broad and 35.5″ vertical. That leg drive/power has been key to his game. He runs through tackles, pushes the pile, and when he hits the open field has 4.76 speed to make big plays. Look for him to get back to his dominant play this fall.

Another elite athletic tester and strong performer on the field was the Litchfield ’24. The 6′ 175 lbs athlete has a frame that can continue to be filled out for the next level wear and tear. His athleticism already looks the part though with his 4.65 40, 9’4″ broad jump, 4.28 pro agility, and 7.12 L Drill. Lukas is a fluid athlete with the flexibility and body control to get all the power and explosiveness out of his lower half. The potential is there to get excited about. I went to his tape to see more, and it is clear that Lukas is a game breaker with his speed and elusiveness. Keep an eye on this talented RB.
Alec Mahoney
Alec Mahoney
Alec is the first of multiple small RBs in this article that have the potential to be change of pace or mismatches at the next level. Mahoney is only 5’8″ 167 lbs, but he has proven that he is hard to contain. He has blazing 4.59 40 speed and he used it in 2022 to easily get outside contain and then race down the field. Give him a seam between the tackles and hew ill turn that into big gains as well. If he can get the ball in space he can hurt defenses. After watching through his tape I see that he also has safety experience where he is again able to use his speed to be a rangy prospect.
The AAA State Champion from MN came over to River Falls and dominated the night. The 6’1″ 189 lbs ’24 ran a solid 4.75 40 and crushed the jumps with a 39.1″ vert and a 9’4″ broad. The soon to be senior ran for nearly 2000 yards last fall. He did it with a rounded game. He used his vision and balance to play between the tackles where Mason was able to show off his physicality. Look for a monster finish to his HS career. It is time for the next level to get Delzer on their radars. I believe he is looking for his first offer. There isn’t much more he can show. The production is there. The talent is there. Now he has the measurables locked in.
Speed, speed, speed. That is the name of the game for Trent Nitek Trent Nitek 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH Lake Holcombe | 2024 State WI . Last weekend he won the D3 State Championship in the 100M dash in his first year competing in track. Then he showed up to the Minnesconsin Camp and ran the fastest 40 yard dash among the 700+ athletes. That was a time of 4.38. Get this kid on your radar now before he breaks onto the scene in the fall. Nitek takes over games with his speed. He is able to stretch the defense horizontally and from there he hits seams and nobody can catch him. Get this kid out in space and let him be the mismatch nightmare that he is.
Jeremiah Rockiett
Jeremiah Rockiett
Another under the radar, chase of pace RB in the WI Class of 2024 is Oregon athlete Jeremiah Rockiett. Rockiett already fills that roll for Oregon. He averaged 6 yards per carry as a junior and over 30 yards per return on his 5 kickoff returns. Rockiett thrives in space where he can use his 4.67 40 speed, or his burst that is shown off by a 9’4″ broad jump or 36.1 vertical. The agility to make kids miss in space is a key part of his game as well. The Oregon running game is going to look to him for big plays this fall. I’m excited to see the tape.
A WI athlete who proved that he has the talent to be a next level change of pace/third down back is the Waukesha West RB. Dominic crushed the combine with a 4.53 40, 9’3″ broad jump, 34.7″, and stands 5’7″ 153 lbs. Dominic proved that he can be that third down back and reliable receiver with his work in the one on ones. He lined up out wide during the camp and showed us that he can with with route running and agility. He also has the hands to rely on. I’m excited to see what he does in his final season. Don’t sleep on the playmaker.
