Here are five outstanding Defensive Backs looking to have a great Junior season this fall!
Dorian’s awesome play in 2022 was a bright spot in the 5-6 season of the Northmont Thunderbolts. He is an outstanding 2-way player at WR on offense and CB on defense. Against the pass, he does a great job of reading the receiver and uses his great play speed to stay in phase. He locates the ball in the air and shows great hands as he comes down with an interception. Against the run, he displays very good instincts as he takes the correct angle in pursuit and displays excellent play speed and athletic ability as he chases down the RB and makes the tackle preventing a touchdown.
Jahmale’s great play in 2022 helped the Trotwood-Madison Rams to a 7-win season and advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He lines up at CB. Against the pass, he is patient with his hands in press coverage and effectively matches the feet of the WR. He shows good play speed as he keeps the WR at arm’s length. He exhibits good ball skills as he reads the QB and shows good hands as he makes the interception. Against the run, he shows great football intelligence as he quickly reads run/pass, plays with good leverage and delivers a nice form tackle preventing a first down.

In 2022, Joel’s outstanding play helped the Wyoming Cowboys to a 15-win season where they held opposing offenses to 5.1 points per game and advanced to the Division IV Championship game. He lines up at CB. Against the pass, he does a great job of using his athleticism to patrol his zone while keeping his eyes on the QB. He quickly locates the ball, shows good closing speed and displays good hands as he makes the interception. Against the run, he displays good play strength as he sheds the block from the WR and shows great form as he makes the tackle preventing a first down.

In 2022, Tyree’s good play helped was a bright spot in the 3-8 season of the Reynoldsburg Raiders. He plays as a Safety. Against the pass, he does a great job of keeping the WR in front of him while in off-man. He reacts quickly to the ball being thrown and uses his good play speed to put himself in position to make a play before exhibiting solid hands as he makes the interception. Against the run, he shows good football intelligence as he keys and diagnoses the play. He takes good angles in pursuit before effectively using his good play strength to make the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL.

In 2022, Reese’s very good play was a bright spot in the 5-6 season of the Licking Heights Hornets where they held opposing offenses to 21 points or less 6 times. He lines up at FS and SS. Against the pass, he does a good job of patrolling his zone while reading the QB. Once the ball is thrown, he shows elite closing speed and takes good angles in pursuit before delivering a big hit near the LOS preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the run, he does an outstanding job of timing the snap before using his great quickness to penetrate the LOS. He plays with good leverage and explosiveness as he makes the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL.
