He displays very good vision as he quickly finds the open and exhibits great burst as he gets through the hole quickly. He displays excellent contact balance as he breaks tackles from LB with ease. Joel had a great game this week as he rushed for 176 yds on 15 carries (11.7 ypc) and scored 3 TD while helping Wyoming defeat Deer Park to remain undefeated this season at 7-0. His very good vision helps him quickly find the open hole and exhibits good play speed and athleticism while in the secondary. He exhibits solid contact balance as he keeps his feet moving on contact as he picks up extra yardage as he picks up a big first down. He exhibits very good mental toughness as he elevates his play while in the red zone.

In 2022, Joel’s outstanding play helped the Wyoming Cowboys to a 15-win season where they held opposing offenses to 5.1 points per game and advanced to the Division IV Championship game. He lines up at CB. Against the pass, he does a great job of using his athleticism to patrol his zone while keeping his eyes on the QB. He quickly locates the ball, shows good closing speed and displays good hands as he makes the interception. Against the run, he displays good play strength as he sheds the block from the WR and shows great form as he makes the tackle preventing a first down.
