The only tight end on this list, Brady is set up for success at St. Josephs. Already hovering over 6’5″, this soon to be sophomore has the size to become one of the next great tight ends to come out of NJ. He’s got the size to be elite and his longer arms help to keep the catch away from the body. With his size, he will also play a pivotal role in run support; using his bigger frame to move defenders to his mercy. We will be hearing a lot of buzz about Brady Shust Brady Shust 6’5″ | 235 lbs | TE St. Joseph’s Regional (Montvale) | 2026 State NJ in the upcoming years.
Highlights
Donavan Catholic now has two great players that made the Up Next series. To go with Najee Calhoun Najee Calhoun 5’11” | 180 lbs | RB Bergen Catholic | 2026 State NJ , Donovan Catholic also has an elite receiver out wide in Emanuel Gerena Emanuel Gerena 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH Donovan Catholic | 2026 State NJ . Bringing in 213 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns as a freshman, Emanuel showed flashes of greatness. Emanuel is slippery. An extremely agile receiver that also bounces off of would-be tacklers. All you need to do is set up the screen, throw it to Emanuel on time, and let him do the rest. 2023 will be a big year for Emanuel as it puts him on the map.
Woodbury’s Ibn Muhammad Ibn Muhammad 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR Woodbury | 2026 State NJ was the freshman receiver every program wish they had. Catching for 276 touchdowns and 6 touchdowns, Ibn may be the receiver with the most potential and upside in the NJ 2026 class of receivers. A player that always seem to be open, Ibn did a great job of navigating through traffic and finding the open field to keep the play alive for his QB in 2022. If you haven’t heard about Ibn by now, I’m sure you will in the near future.
The final player on this list is another Bergen Catholic talent. One of the taller freshman receivers in 2022, CJ Edwards CJ Edwards 6’4″ | 190 lbs | DL Bergen Catholic | 2026 State NJ is ready to start turning some heads this next fall. A player with great reach, he will be making critical catches in the back of the end zone very soon. He is set up to become a jump ball specialist, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he were to become the main target in the red zone. With the competition CJ has to face in practice day in and day out, you know he is only going to excel at his position. With some more size put on CJ will become a dangerous weapon for his team.
