We broke this standouts list into two sections by state, as we uncover the best of the best from Illinois and Iowa and don’t worry Wisconsin, you were loaded too from a talent perspective and you will find yourself in Part III, as these prospects are in no particular order. Great batch of young men here that are destined to playing on Saturdays at several different levels of college football.
Illinois Prospects:
Jack Gallier Jack Gallier 6'1" | 255 lbs | DL Mahomet-Seymour | 2024 IL , DL, Mahomet-Seymour (IL) 2024 Twitter
- Jack was the defensive line MVP on Saturday and it was rightfully deserved as I would also have nominated Jack for the work ethic MVP amongst this group on Saturday, as this young man just had the mindset that he was going to finish in the backfield no matter what it took for him to get there with his heavy grinding motor he has in his plethora.
- Jack also tested stronger in nearly every category from the The Line Iowa versus the The Line Illinois last month, as some of the most interesting data that was impressed was his long jump (7’6, now 8’0) 10 and 20 yard (1’76, now 1.63 on 10) and 3.06 and now at 2.92 in the 20 which just further shows how much attention Jack’s focus lines him up to get better. Jack shows off excellent finesse off his sheds that can get downhill quickly with excellent physicality at 6’0 nearly 260 pounds
- You also can bet as a college program, when you get this kid on campus you are getting a kid with outstanding character in your locker room as Jack would also get one of my highest grades from a character perspective from Saturday at The Line Iowa Showcase. This is certainly a DL prospect you go outside the measurables threshold for.
Rhett VanBoening, OL, Libertyville (IL) 2025 Twitter
- Rhett had some of the fastest hands as far as his punch goes out of the 2025 prospects at The Line Iowa Showcase on Saturday. I also was intrigued with Rhett’s wingspan from the numbers I got from testing, as he tested 3.25 inches longer with his wingspan which when you look at the tape, you can see why Rhett even as an incoming sophomore has so much balance and control of the defender even from a longer angle.
- Rhett also showed off a fluid release when I watched him take his first step as he showed a prospect that after watching him run a 4.72 pro agility, I saw that change of direction come to life from several different angles he showed consistent balance in every rep I got to watch.
- Rhett much like older brother and Eastern Michigan commit, Trenton VanBoening Trenton VanBoening 6'7" | 280 lbs | OL Libertyville | 2023 State IL Rhett has the finishing skillset in his athletic body that I feel is going to grow a bunch in the two football seasons he has left coming up at Libertyville. Looks like another VanBoening brother that will be playing on Saturdays in my early eyes.
Iowa Prospects:
David Souvongsavath, OL, Waukee (IA) 2025 Twitter
- David was the offensive line MVP at The Line Iowa Showcase, as this kid struck a chord with his talents early in the showcase in my eyes. David had the consistency with feist and speed with his hands with great pad-level and never lost balance from any of the reps I watched of using those hands with persistent flow throughout every rep.
- Surprisingly enough David is a offensive tackle that most don’t know about yet due to the lightness of his tape, but that consistency we saw on Saturday lines up perfectly with the growing skillsets David puts up on tape especially in the balance department I referenced above with his 6’0 255 pound frame.
- David also intrigued me with his testing numbers especially the 10 to 20 yard dash, in which he ran from 10-20 in 1.24 seconds which just shows off if you can advance David into the second level as a lead blocker for his ball carrier, that opposing defense is going to have some problems with his downhill trigger in mind. Certainly an offensive tackle with a high upside to watch in the coming years out of the Des Moines area.
Sam Munn, OL, Pleasant Valley (IA) 2025
- Sam might have the biggest upside in this second group, as the nearly 6’0 285 pounder showed off some great bases of footwork from what I watched on Saturday in West Des Moines.
- One of my favorite other skillsets Sam possessed on Saturday was his angle-blocking has even though I got light reps watching him, you can tell that is his biggest pro to his game as he doesn’t quite have the mean finishing demeanor yet, but still utilizes his hands from the edge of his blocker to open up the around the edges of the inside box.
- Sam also has one of the deepest below the pad stances on his Pleasant Valley offensive line, so it’s no wonder this young man has no issues as far as I can see with getting leverage-will need to develop a bigger mean streak into his next two football seasons to open more next-level eyes.
Brody Clubb Brody Clubb 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Clear Creek-Amana | 2025 State IA , DL, Clear Creek-Amana (IA) 2025 Twitter
- Brody is a 2025 defensive end prospect I have had my eyes on for a while now, so I was interested to see him at The Line Iowa Showcase to see exactly what skillsets he has in his toolbox as I just caught him live during 7v7 events.
- He showed off some smooth footwork when I watched him the early testing session, and a logged an extremely twitchy change of direction with a 7.37 pro agility at 6’3 240 pounds which is certainly an impressive number at that size as it was one of the top pro agility times seen out of the 50 prospects on Saturday at The Line Iowa on Saturday.
- As far as 1v1s, Brody showed off great instincts with his football IQ getting into the backfield. He has some development brewing when it comes to utilizing his hands and the swim moves in his toolbox at a faster pace with coaching this summer and showing off more variety in his swim moves. With Brody’s athleticism I thought he got better every rep on Sunday and the more reps this kid puts in this summer at prospect camps and in the weight room with speed and agility, the more polished he will look by summer end in my eyes.
