We have been back in the lab working on the 2024 rankings update, going roster by roster, looking for stand-out players. Although the order is still in the works, we have definitely found plenty of new prospects that could play at the next level.

Well my excitement once again got the best of me, so I bring you four new names that you should expect to see in the upcoming rankings update.

Flying very under the radar, Aurora's [player_tooltip player_id='846300' first='Treshaun' last='Beed'] is a name to get familiar with ASAP. Treshaun's junior tape was very entertaining to watch, mostly due to his physicality at the CB position. Beed showed a willingness to tackle, not just receivers, but also ready to take on backs and tight ends. He has lengthy arms that you like to see at corner, and he does a good job using them to disrupt receivers in one form or another. Beed displayed that he can press receivers when needed and does a great job getting his hands ups to break up would-be receptions. He has good instincts in coverage and can pick up switches on receivers with no problem. Solid change of direction and great closing on the ball. Definitely hope to see more from Treshaun this summer. Dordt, Nebraska Wesleyan, Concordia, and Hastings College have all extended camp invites and shown interest so far.

EMF's [player_tooltip player_id='735981' first='Breckan' last='Schluter'] quietly had one of the more productive seasons among 8-man players in 2022. In 9 games, Schluter rushed for 1,930 yards and an eye-popping 32 touchdowns. Breckan is a powerful north-south runner with solid vision to find open lanes. Breckan has a strong frame that can absorb contact and possesses a powerful stiff arm that he uses to break several tackles in his way. He has a powerful base that keeps him pumping through tackle attempts and has the balance to remain upright or at least fall forward. Very consistent runner that can be a workhorse three-down back. Breckan is also a standout linebacker that excels playing a downhill, physical playing style. He is quick to key run or pass and does a great job closing on the ball. The pass coverage reps on Breckan's tape were also very impressive, showing lots of fluidity and sharp instincts. Solid prospect to jump on quick!!

One of the more under-the-radar players on a loaded Cardinals squad. The 6'6" prospect was a stand-out linebacker while also showing several flashes at tight end. Jaxon finished his junior season with 55 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. His ability to defend the run and willingness to tackle and take on RBs in 1v1 situations was impressive to see. His 6'11" wingspan drastically shortens a ball carrier's ability to evade Lipker, and at nearly 200 pounds, he can put a lot of power behind some of his hits. He can also be used in coverage to against tight ends and backs out of the backfield. Jaxon's huge wingspan also translates into a massive catch radius on offense, where he could get some looks as a flex TE. He didn't see a ton of targets, but when he did, Jaxon was a consistent big-body possession receiver that you can go to on quick passes. Northern State, Briar Cliff, Dakota Wesleyan, and Dordt have all shown interest in the Cardinal's 'backer so far.

Rio was a big miss in our March update, as he fell onto our radar only days later, but he will definitely be listed on this go-around. Right away, Rio's motor pops off the screen, playing fast off the snap and with tons of intensity while keeping his eyes on the ball. He has a quick first step and can convert his explosive get-off into a powerful first jab. Remund uses his hands violently and possesses nice length to help him create separation and shed blocks. He's very explosive overall, with nice power in his hips and lower body. Rio possesses a higher upside on defense, but depending on how he fills out, he could play defensive end but showed that he could also line up in a stand-up edge rush role. Remund ended his junior campaign with 63 tackles, eight tackles for loss, nine sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, showing he has a knack for making splash plays in the backfield. Rio has taken visits to Nebraska, Southwest Minnesota State, Chadron State, Augustana, Wayne State, North Dakota State, Minnesota State Moorhead, and Sioux Falls, with several other schools expressing interest.
