<p>After an action-packed season of high school football in the Bluegrass State, it's time to break down some of the top performers on the field last year as the offseason continues. To kickstart my "Offseason Spotlight" series, we will be evaluating some standout performers in different areas of the state, beginning with the city of Bowling Green. Without further ado, here's my list of Bowling Green All-City standouts to watch for this upcoming year.</p>

<p>At the top of my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='340071' first='Deuce' last='Bailey'], a 6-foot-1, 165-pound quarterback out of Bowling Green High School. Bailey made a huge difference offensively at the helm of the Purples' offense during his sophomore campaign last season, becoming one of the best gunslingers in the state. In 15 contests, Bailey threw 221 completions out of 360 attempts for 3,136 yards and 34 touchdowns. Bailey additionally picked up 71 attempts on the ground, recording 424 yards and three scores. In addition to impressive size and speed, the rising junior quarterback out of Bowling Green, KY. contributes excellent arm strength and pin-point accuracy in the air.</p>

<p>Coming in at number two on this list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='331739' first='Bryce' last='Button'], a 6-foot-3, 193-pound quarterback out of South Warren High School. Button was a huge offensive weapon under center for the Spartans during his sophomore season of high school football, proving himself to be one of the more dangerous quarterbacks in the state. In 12 games, Button threw 168 completions out of 272 attempts for 2,021 yards and 16 touchdowns. Button additionally picked up 90 rush attempts for 438 yards and six scores. In addition to impressive size and speed, the rising junior out of Bowling Green, KY. plays quick off the snap, has excellent arm strength and can connect with his receivers anywhere on the field.</p>

<p>At number three on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='653474' first='Easton' last='Barlow'], a 6-foot-0, 165-pound wide receiver out of Bowling Green High School. Barlow made a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball for the Purples during his junior season last year, leading the team in receptions on the year. In 15 contests, Barlow hauled in 52 receptions for 1,008 yards and 12 touchdowns. Barlow also recorded three rush attempts for 17 yards. In addition to impressive size and speed, Barlow contributes excellent durability and physicality down the stretch, making him one of the more explosive receivers in the Bluegrass State.</p>

<p>Finishing at number four on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='381911' first='Gray' last='Price'], a 6-foot-0, 200-pound linebacker out of Greenwood High School. Price was a major defensive weapon for the Gators during his junior season of high school football last year, becoming one of the most efficient tacklers on Greenwood's roster. In 11 contests, Price recorded 65 total tackles, including 36 solo stops, 29 assisted takedowns and four tackles for loss. In addition to excellent size, speed and toughness, Price plays quick off the snap, creating heavy defensive pressure. Price also proved his ability to be disruptive defensively, making significant stops all season long.</p>

<p>Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='381906' first='Wick' last='Dotson'], a 5-foot-10, 185-pound defensive back out of Bowling Green High School. Dotson was an explosive defensive playmaker for the Purples during his junior season of high school football last year, becoming one of the top tacklers on the team. In 15 games, Dotson recorded 70 total tackles, including 39 solo stops, 31 assisted takedowns and two tackles for loss. Dotson additionally made one fumble recovery, returning it 16 yards to the house, and led the team in interceptions on the year with five for 45 yards. Dotson contributes excellent size, speed and physicality, which allows for him to be so explosive defensively. Dotson showcased his ability to quickly apply pressure on the quarterback and make important stops.</p>

<p>Claiming the sixth place spot on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='381910' first='TelTel' last='Long'], a 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete out of Greenwood High School. Long made a huge difference on both sides of the ball for the Gators during his junior season last year. In 12 games, Long led the Gators on the ground, picking up 122 rush attempts for 869 yards and four touchdowns. He was also the top receiver, hauling in 26 receptions for 391 yards and four scores. On the other side of the ball, Long recorded 36 total tackles, including 27 solo stops, nine assisted takedowns and one tackle for loss. Long also picked up one interception. With impressive size, speed and toughness, Long made his presence known on both sides of the field last season, showcasing his physicality, versatility and efficiency both offensively and defensively.</p>

<p>At number seven on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='738848' first='Jayden' last='Axson'], a 6-foot-0, 190-pound linebacker out of Bowling Green High School. Axson was a huge difference maker on the defensive side of the ball for the Purples during his sophomore season of high school football, becoming one of the more reliable tacklers on the team. In 15 games, Axson recorded 31 total tackles, including 15 solo stops, 16 assisted takedowns, two tackles for loss and one sack. Axson additionally made one fumble recovery. With impressive size, speed and physicality, Axson made a big difference defensively, showing off his quickness off the snap, his ability to hit hard and his consistency in applying pressure on the offense.</p>
